Economical aftermarket seats?
I'm looking for an aftermarket seat thats relatively cheap and light. Dont care whether it reclines or not (actually prefer one that does not). I cant justify $300 and up for a damn seat.

For a non-reclinable seat, the NEX seats are a good deal. I have read that they weigh from 11.7lbs. to 17lbs., I don't know what the real weight is but I read a reveiw of them in a import mag and they claimed the weight being 11.7lbs. and a seat that is made a little wider. I bought Sparco Speed seats before and they were way to tight for me since I drive my fd daily and I weigh about 190lbs and about 5'8 in height. Here is a link for them. I would search around. At one time I found them for just under $400 shipped with mounting brackets. Hope that helped.

If you cheap out on seats, you will either get shitty support and have problems with your seating position/posture or the material will wear down quickly and they will look like ****. I've had a few sets of seats and finally payed what I should for some for my other car and the only regret I have is wasting money on all the other seats I ever bought.

Thanks for the reply. The Nex seats look about like what Im after. If anyone who reads this actually has used them please provide info on your experiences.

cheap does not equal good value
Why would you cheap out on the seat when that is your primary interaction with the vehicle? The Corbeau Forza is a good competition seat for those with 30+ inch waists, but it would really suck for daily use. If you want a good supportive seat that you can actually drive around in regularly, the Corbeau CR-1 is nice.
BTW, those Mazdaspeed seats on EBAY aren't authentic, I can't believe that guy has gotten away with it for so long.

I'll respond for blacksupra. He is about 5'10" maybe 160lbs. I've also sat in these seats before and I agree that they are very comfortable. They hug you a lot more than the stock ones do and I am 6'3" 185lbs

Persona non grata
My Corbeau Forza's exceeded expectations. My Dad and I had no problems driving back from Spokane Washington to St Louis in them ... even though he had some issues climbing in and out of the cage.
I would definately reccomend the Forza's for seats on the cheap.

LOL I would definitely take you up on that offer BOOSTD 7, but I'm looking to get black seats to match my interior. I have a Black R1 and I want to keep the "look" the same. Thanks for the offer though. Also, do you think those Forza's in the link were a good deal? And also, since you have 4642 posts and you've been around for over 3 years, I was wondering if you have any idea how much I could get for a pair of R1 Seats??? The passenger seat is in perfect condition and the driver's seat just has a wear spot on the side (from getting in). Thanks,
Craig
