Custom Fiberglass box for my FD

I've been working on building a fiberglass box for the spare tire area of the FD. It holds one ten inch sub, and is made out of about 75% fiber. I'll take some pics of it and post them next week. Now my question is...should I make the amp rack out of fiberglass or just go with wood? I think that they should weigh about the same.

uhhhh, glass it... easier to get a good coat of paint on the glass.

I don't think I'm going to paint it....I might go leather....but I'm leaning toward vinyl/

hmmmm.... well, vinyl is easier to manipulate.

I'm not too sure then.. A very popular route is to glass a box and body match it. It's very far from rice, as long as it's not an "accent" color.. hehe, Anyhow, glass lets you make smooth, flowing shapes very easily, NTM allows for a box made of fewer pieces. Fewer pieces means potential seams to open up on you, less glue, cleaner install.... Unless you're really good with wood.

I dunno, I just think glass has more potential. If you're familiar, then knock yourself out!

Oh yeah, I'm interested to see how this turns out.. I love seeing people's own audio work. It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Hey, that would be sweet! Maybe I can talk you into duplicating something for a small fee?

I suppose it depends on the price, and I've got to decide if I can live without my spare... and it'd have to be removable, 'cause I'm not sure I would want to take long trips w/o my spare...
