Custom dash and interior pics
So,
Today I discovered my Girlie side, using the sewing machine to get a nice new shifter and E brake boot.
I used the old "leather" to use as a mold/ jig to get the right measurements.
For my new boots I used Alcantara which I will also be using as my new carpet and for covering my boot area. The alcantara is black/greyish with blue stitching.
I also just finished installing my 4" Defi tach and new colour coded dash, which is gold as are my rims.
Let me know what you guys think of it. I will keep an update for the carpet, but right now Im waiting for some books to come in and tell me about how to make my interior.
Cheers
Rogier

First sand down the complete dash till the coat is of. After that clean thoroughly. Than start off with a primer, sand down slightly using 2000 grit paper. Than spray 3-4 layers. After that you can use a clearcoat. I didnt.
The paint is a normal "cheap" paint. Looks somewhat like a paint you use painting the iron fence. I think if you do the above procedure and take your time (downtime is like 3-4 days.) the effect will be super.
Make sure that you dont spray the layers to thick causing dribs etc.

First cover the floor with some sound isolating material. Even I would like to hear from time to time some music instead of my exhaust, well my GF does...

After a couple of days work with sewing and making good jigs/moulds of the carpet this what it looks like, finished product of one side. However I need to get the rear panels in before finishing it completely.

skim41,
What kind of glue do you use? My wife has started complaining bout the level of noise coming from the engine/exhaust. Planning to redo the floor carpets as well. Was it very hard to remove? Besides taking off the seats/side sills what else did you have to take out? How many hours do you reckon it would take to remove the carpets? Thanks mate.
And Yup the interior looks good. WIsh i knew how to work a sewing machine.

Does it take long. Well the carpet is glued to the chassis under the dashboard, you have to cut it out. To take out the carpet you have to remove the rear quarter panels, bins/seats, center console and dashboard if you want to take it out neately. I think removing everything will cost about 2 hours.
Next you need to isolate the floor with sounddeadening material, I think this will also take an hour or two. You can reinstall the original carpet, go for a different carpet or go for a custom carpet. The choice is all yours. When you make one, be prepared to spent an hour or 8 sewing, making patterns etc.
I can make you a carpet, if we can agree on the material and on the price.
My car was the first to be done, I have some small issues that need to be solved, furthermore I think its very nice.
You can use normal sprayglue to glue everything to the bottom.
I will have some pics up tomorrow with the almost finished look

Ok, yesterday I picked up my Sparco corsa's. I know this will be a tight fit, but today I manufactured new seatrails, these are fixed to the chassis. So they cant be moved. They will rub very little to the doors, but Im goint to fix that And make some pics of the whole on friday.
The seat frames will be a direct bolt on to the chassis.

Hey Rogier, it looks like you already got to work with my (ex) seats. Interior looks great, specially the floorwork.
Hope you can fix the seat fitment, and I"ll let you know when my "project" reaches it's final stage(in a decade or so :-D lol)
