Wow Stokedxiv, you took what i said way wrong. Maybe you should reread my post ....
a) i didn't say that he shouldn't buy suspension products.
b) i didn't say that i agreed with him not having any suspension mods before buying a bodykit.
c) i didn't say that downforce on his car helps enough to improve the handling of the car .
What i did say was ....
a)It looked like the kit applied enough downforce to lower the car
b) Body kits should be wind tunnel tested and be functional if you pay $2000 and up for it (is it not logical to pay for function as well as form?).
If you want to re-word anything else from my post you are more than welcome to ... I just hate clearing up for the rest of the people who read your interpretation and distort what i am trying to say.

Let's recap: I never said you were endorsing the fact that he didn't have suspension, or that you thought he didn't need suspension. i also never said anything to make it look like you believed that the bodykit helped improve the handling characteristics of the car.
What i did say was: the logic you are debating with is based on an assumption. and that assumption is basically 'If my buddy paid $2000 on a body kit, it MUST be functional because it's sooo expensive.' You also say in your last post "is it not logical to pay for function as well as form?" and the answer is yes, it is logical. It's just too bad that with bodykits, that 'logic' is rarely applicable simply because people buy bodykits for looks. Only in rare occasions do people buy bodykits for function, and in those cases that they actually do, 99% of those cars are not used on the street or shown in car shows. The only commonly purchased body pieces that would be considered functional are under-car rear diffusers, and adjustable rear wings. Both of which don't do much if anything at 55mph, but help keep the cars stable (not lower the car) when they get to triple digit speeds
I'm not trying to argue with you, just trying to help you understand that spending a lot of money doesn't automatically mean that you get something that is functional. Also, downforce really doesn't come into play at 55mph, and even if it did, you wouldn't be able to physically see the car being pushed to the ground. you would be able to FEEL the handling characteristics of the car change, to make it FEEL more glued to the road, but you'd have to be going a hell of a lot faster than 55 to actually witness a difference.

I didn't assume that if you paid 2000$ for a body kit it was functional. I said that it would be logical to be functional.
I'm not looking for a fight either but i did feel i had to retort in response to the " With your logic " statement. I guess I threw the whole thread off track so this will be my last post on it.
So with that ... Blue is my favorite color

I think it's about 6K.

My friend has a veilside body kit on his tiburon. His car is not lowered but the downforce produced by the kit slams it to the ground when he's above 55 mph.
