Center Channel Speaker for FD3S?
Originally, this car had the Bose system. That was torn out and replaced years ago with a poor head unit and coaxes in the doors. Now, I am redoing the entire car and have decided to put in a center channel to improve imaging in both seats.
I just bought a new/mint AudioControl Model 11, so I will have a true center channel processor with an onboard amplifer which is rated at 24w into 4 ohms and 40w into 2 ohms.
I realize that this center channel will only be used to accent and center the imaging produced primarily by the component sets in the door, but, do I need to tonally match the center with the door component sets?
If so, I was thinking of using JL XR 6.5" components with a single JL XR400-cx integrated component speaker in/on the dash?
Or... should I just opt for a small full range speaker like the Adire AV3 3" full range speaker?
I realize that many folks don't think we need the center channel but I want to try it to see for myself...
Thanks for any help and suggestions you can offer!

If you are actually going to really run a center speaker, then yes, it should be as close a tonal match to the fronts as possible.
The Bose system already had a center channel amp and speaker -- were those ripped out as well?
