Carbon Fiber Interior Peices

Carbon Fiber Interior Peices
I was having trouble finding someone reputable to make carbon fiber interior pieces to match the 4 peice (cluster face, cluster hood, center consul, and hvac) that I got from China. I decided to make my own interior pieces.
This was definitely a pain in the *** and it took about a month to get all the strands of carbon fiber that were tracked through my house, but I am pleased with the results.
Making the pieces.

I'm not sure why some of you guys can't see the pics. The are up and visible to myself and others. I will attach thumbnails for you guys.
I made this piece for the dash that actually had to be molded on the dash to capture the curvature of the FD dashboard.

There was a small blemish on the drivers door piece from where the handle insert scratched the carbon fiber. I have sanded and repolished that portion so it looks good now.
I have been looking for a couple years for a vendor to make these parts. Since JKL Engineering went under, I have heard one horror story after another about scams and rip-offs. Sometimes you have to take things into your own hands to get **** done on this car.

There is a company out of New Jersey by the name of Carbon Fiber Element that will wrap anything you want in real carbon fiber. He has done some interior trims and my pillars on my 350Z. They do great work. They will be doing some work on the FD soon too.

Thanks for all the compliments . One of my friends cam over and noticed the glossy, shiny finished parts and refused to believe that I had made them in my kitchen. This took a while to do, but that was also my first attempt. I feel like I have learned a lot about working with carbon fiber and future projects will come out even better. Unfortunately I am about to move in a few weeks, so I won't be able to recreate these parts for anyone in the near future. I am spending most of my time desperately trying to finish my fuel system build before I have to move out of my house.
If there is enough interest, I can turn this thread into a "How to" and go over the materials needed as well as the process I used.
Anyone can do this, but it is a time consuming and messy process. You will swear...a lot, but the finished product is worth it.

Okay. I am in the middle of moving right now, but when I get some time, I will take some pictures of the products I used and make a quick write-up of the process. Sorry, there will not be any videos, but I will post links to the youtube videos that I watched to learn.
