Angry Car Alarm problems....

Ok, well I was so close to getting my car running and now I don't know what is wrong.

Well, I finally got my battery hooked back up and my alarm went off. The lights were flashing, interiot lights, tail lights, etc....I had removed the horn last year. It was a DEI alarm that was on the car when I bought it. I don't have the key fob things, so I was unable to shut the alarm off unless I could start my car, which I can't, since I don't have my fuel pump wired up yet. Well anyways, I decided to get rid of the alarm, so I followed all the wires to where they went and I removed them all, none of them appeared to be a part of my factory wiring, they were all either clipped on or saudered on. Well I removed that whole mess and tried to see if all my lights would work. Nothing....no horn, tailights, blinkers, radio, dash lights, nothing works except my headlights and my power windows...even my power mirrors quit working.

Does anyone have any idea how that could be? I was really hoping to start and drive my car this week for the first time in 10 months and now I have no juice inside my car. Everything worked with the alarm installed as far as I knew, since I could not shut the alarm off I was unable to check all my lights and radio, but I know the dash lights and interior lights were working because they were flashing at me until I unhooked the battery to kill it.

If anyone has any suggestions on what it could be, it would be much appreciated. Could it be a fuse? or a connection? The alarm had it's own fuses and relays and such....but I assumed if the dash lights worked yesterday, then they should work today, but I was wrong. I am confused as hell and I don't know anything about car alarms so I am at a loss.

Thanks,
Scott

I can't yet....I am not ready to start it quite yet. I am hoping that if I can start it that it will solve my problems....I began tracing wires last night, and I found one problem, the alarm spliced some wires into other wires leaving a disconection between two factory wires. I haven't hooked those up yet, but I am going to and see if that was it.

I went through my entire car today.....and removed all wires from the old DEI alarm and the Autopage security system. There was two cut wires....one was a Black/Blue Stripe wire below the steering column (ignition wire I believe) and the other was in the main stereo harness, I removed both alarm wires and re saudered the old wires back to one another. All the other wires were simply spliced into the other wires, either with little clamps or saudered onto the other wire like a T. I cut all those alarm wires off of the factory wires and taped up the bare wire on the original wire. I tried again and same ****. My headlights, windows, A/C, Defrost, High Beams, even my High Bean Indicator light comes on, but the dash lights, interior lights, brake lights, horn, door locks, radio, and even my PFC Commander (which was not wired into the alarm in any way).....all of that still does not work. It is fucked up.

I am curious about an engine ground. I relocated my battery to the rear passenger cubby bin and I have it grounded to the chassis. But where the battery used to be was a ground of course and I simply cut it off, thinking I did not need it anymore. I also have a wiring harness ground not hooked up below the spark plugs that should go to the engine block I assume. Could those grounds be my problem? Also, all the dash cluster lights and interior lights were all flashing when the alarm was first going off, so I know they all work, but once I removed the alarm they no longer do, so would those engine grounds have anything to do with it since it worked with the alarm in, but not with the alarm out?

My other question would be about some relays, were there any relays below the dash factory, that they may have removed when they installed the alarm, and now that I removed the alarm, now I have no relays at all? I am most curoius about the ECU and the Brake Lights....those are odd to not work, I would think they would work all the time regardless of the ignition switch.

I also checked my main fuse and it is still good. The ground may be the answer, I am not real good with electronics. I will ground all that **** tomorrow and check again. I am afraid a stereo shop would want to see my car, then charge me an arm and a leg to fix it......that would be a last resort. If you can help any more, please try.

Thanks,
Scott

somewhere under there, should be a constant wire supplying a constant 12 volts to the functions you just mentioned (except the radio which would come on with the switch when you turn the key to te accessory position)...do you have a voltage meter? if you don't, get one they are very useful and easy to use. you will need one to probe the wires.

try going to sears and picking up digital voltage/ multi meter. give me a couple days and maybe i or somebody else will layout the color coding of all the wires for the 7.

FIXED!!!

I was simply missing a power wire that went between my Main 120A fuse and my other fuse box with the circuit relay fuse, main EGI fuse, etc.....Got to love a multi-meter.

Thanks to those who helped.
