Can someone design an enclosure for my 10' woofer?

And have it shaped like a Rotory - triangle instead of the standard box shape....

The volume must be .66 cu total.

I'm not sure what the exact trunk dimensions are, but I think there is a depth limitation of about 8 inches so the woofer will have to face upward........ this is with my trunk lid in place.

I need just the basica dimensions.

Thanks in advance.....

I had a friend who wanted to use a metal for a speaker box, doesnt seem like it would work to well considering the sub is powered by a magnet.

aluminum will not be rigid or dead enough of a material, there is a good reason why good speaker cabinets are made with MDF.

You can always use plexiglass. It's a pain to cut into a shape you want, but it would look cool, and sound pretty good. I have heard quite a few stereos that were all plexi boxes and they rocked.

Actually, does anyone know the formula for finding out the volume displacement for a Cylinder?

Volume of a cylinder= pi(r squared) x length
where "r" equals the radius of the circle and "length" equals the length of the cylinder.

make sure to use the same units in the radius and length

Dang........ it's been a while since I have done any math besides the basics........

Can you find out what R^2 is from what info I have?

3.14 x R^2 x 6.28" = 0.66 cu ft

Not enough info here bro! You need to have 1728 somewhere in the equation since that is how many cubic inches are in a cubic foot. I know what you are asking for though...at least I think I do. I assume you want to know the diameter of a tube that is 6.28" long that would have a volume of .66 cu ft.

If this is the case the the inner dimensions of the box would be 15.25" diameter, 6.28" length. Remember that whatever you make the box out of takes up airspace so all calculations should be based on inner dimensions. Also remember that the woofer takes up airspace as well so you have to add a small amount to compensate.

The formula should look as follows: (3.14 ((7.625)^2) 6.28)/1728=.6634759 cu ft

Sorry, poman. I still plan to do another run but have been spending too much time with my own car racing. I have a bunch of others wanting them and hope to make some soon. Honestly it will be after Thanksgiving, but before Christmas.

Batman, these were the 10" subwoofer kits I made and sold. So far there have been a few dozen happy customers. Check out the thread below:

Dang DamonB, that is a NICE enclosure. I never really thought about setting it up that way.

I have this woofer and it's ready to be installed...

Here are the specs:

Driver Mounting Depth
Top Mount 5-1/4" (13.34cm)

Bottom Mount
5-63/100" (14.30cm)

Cut-out
Driver Cut-out Diameter
9-547/2500" (23.42cm)

Do you think ur box will work?

It would work with some modification, my box is shallow so as not to take up room and will only accomodate a 4.5" depth "as is". For deeper woofers such as yours you just add a halo shaped spacer behind the woofer that is thick enough to make your woofer fit; in your case 3/4" thick.
