Broken Glove Box
Hey Guys,
I just realized that my newly acquired FD's glove box latch is missing/broken...does anyone know how I can get it open? and then when I do get it open where do I get a replacement...
And yes, I did use the search )
thanks..

My handle was broken off too. The dealer has them but www.RX7.com usually has them in stock for like $12. 93's are different then 94 and 95.
What I did was just stick my key in one of the holes and pushed the inner latch, popped right open.

Why 94 / Later Latches Are Different...
Warning!! My '93 latch doesn't close tightly and at night, or whenever the lights are on, the glove box interior light comes on and off as the loose lid bounces around, alternately closing and opening the switch on the box. Yuck, it's like Morse Code! Anyway, I've read somewhere that it was an inherent problem, along with the missing "Auto Down" of the power window on the driver's side, and that the cure is to get the latch for the 94 or later and replace the 93 latch, something about the little plunger in the switch being longer or the thingy that pushes against the plunger being longer so that it pushes the plunger more completely... anyway, if you go to get the latch and the dealer is "out" of 94's and only has a 93, don't get it! Wait for them to order the newer one or find one at another dealer.

Are you sure that everything is tight? You might just need to center the glove box and retighten. It won't close right if it's offcenter. 93's won't work on 94 anyways.
No problem apneablue, you have a nice/rare FD, take care of it and enjoy.
