box for woofers

i was planning on either making...or buying a box specially formatted for the back of the seats on a 93 fd...i want to have a box made to fit where the cubby is in the back that way when you look back there...there will be 2- 10inch subs and i want to mount the amps above them to give it a nice flashy look....if anyone has this set up or has seen it any information on if it would fit nice or work please let me know....last time i priced for the box alone would be $1600 for special molding and a fiberglass finish

I don't get what you're trying to do. Something like this?

yea its something like that....but when you take out the cubby in the back there are two divets in the back of the car before the trunk....its like it was made for a couple of subs to fit in there or another seat or something....i just dont like the whole cubby thing in the back and was looking how to replace it i guess

I plan to go with a fully active system with a single high-quality sub in my car down the road. Personally Donny's setup looked the best to me. He has the subs reflecting off the rear glass in a sealed enclosure.

I use the rear bins quite frequently as well as the rear-most section of the hatch, so this configuration is optimal to me. I'd think that the amps and other components could be mounted on the 'wall' much like the crossovers and capacitor are in r71's setup. This would be functional and clean. I've seen a Delorean with a similar setup to what you are after, and it DID look nice just not the style I'd go for in an RX-7 myself.

actually now that ive seen both side by side i like the one that jannus posted a little better....maybe just get 2 subs mounted in the back and put the amps mounted on the front side

how much would it cost you think to get a box for it or would it just be better to make my own box?

..im hopin to fit a couple of 8" subs to the rear seats, in the back support section, should fit nicely, with a decent sized amp to run them...

..not sure when i'll get it done, but hoping very soon. I'll post pictures when it's completed...any suggestions would be welcomed!

Marc

PS i like KaiFD3S setup, but i'mhoping to keep my boot as free as possible!

you can fit a sub with a rollcage - the positioning just changes depending on what space you then have left!
