Black RX7 - Silver or White rims - Opinions
My new Bridigestone Potenza Evolution tiers are just coming in this week I hope. Since I will be changing my old Yokohama tiers with them I am taking the occasion to smooth down the scratches I have on my Yokohama (as well) rims.
Naturally the smoothing will ruin the gold paint they are painted in. Since I have never been a huge fan of this dull looking gold and until I get new Chrome rims I and weighing mine and many others opinion on which of these 2 colors I should paint my Yokohama rims for now. SILVER OR WHITE.
I tend to prefer white after I saw this photo here. Gives a good contrast with the black and besides I always like the combination of black with white. While silver on the other had is a classical even if the colors I saw tend to give the rims a plastic feel more then metallic.
If someone had a pic of a Black RX7 with white rims it would help me a lot on my final decision. Thanks.
Your opinion are much appreciated.

I think white rims look like *** on anything but a white car... and even then it's questionable, and only considerable if the white is an EXACT match for the car color.
Find me a black Ferrari or Porsche with <white> rims... blech!

Thanks very much for the replies so far guys. Especially to Black Turbo 2 and Maul. Your photos are much appreciated and illuminating.
I tend to like the white very much especially when I intende to couple the rims with a couple of well placed mazda stickers just as on Maul's.
Chrome is always my first pref though. So I think I can spray these Yokohama rims white for now to see how thwy go and keep them with yokohama tires. Lately I might get the chrom ones I want and add the Bridgestone Potenza.
Still thinking on it though since I have yet to see a chrome design which I like.
Thanks very much again.

Could you explain us why to stay away from it? Surely it is difficult to maintain and impossible to repair scratches or somthing else.

It all comes down to what you like, who cares what anyone else likes...Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but its just that...an opinion. A bunch of my buddies hate my black rims with the silver Lip, they say I ruined em!!! I think not, I love em, and thats all I care about...

Why white?!? Go 5 miles and watch the crap from the road and brake dust settle in. If you like cleaning wheels more than taking a shower, then go for it. Personally, anything black or gunmetal would work.

I quite like the reflection the chrome produces on black cars like mine.
Here is a pic of what I am thinking to buy. A League 17" polished aliminum rim.
If I decide for it it is readily avilable for me to mount my Bridgestone on and I might have it by Thursday. I quite like the simplicity of the design.
The one I am interested in is the LG 133

Any comments.
