Answer: Porsche GT-1. Anyone have a pic they can post?

Pretty much identical.

So what is under the hood of the Porsche? A radiator?

Who makes that front bumper? Does it come with that lower lip? Is it fiberglass?

Yeah, it's an @ss to tell huh due to the color. In regards to the blue fd again, it appears that it has the gt-c sideskirts and front fender flares and no rear flares. The front is definetially the c-west n1, but it also has the cf fins on the side. Wonder where to purchase those...

Thats the MBAutosport front bumper, only $250!!! They call it "FEED Style" even though it is nothing like the FEED bumper. The fit appears to be excellent, especially for the cost. The lip is molded into the bumper and its all fiberglass. FWIW the design is simply a '99 spec knockoff with the license holder taken out, and then a Veilside lip molded to the bottom. Interesting combination and looks pretty good but I would worry about it cracking the first time I go up my driveway, too low for my taste...

Curious about that myself... The design of the hood wouldn't be the best way of letting the air flow to the radiator escape... A Ultma GTR style hood would be the way they would want to go. Also what would the center vent do for it?

The hood comes with block off plates that attach under the hood so you can still drive it in the rain.

Do you really need hood pins? I'd like to get that hood. W/ or w/out looks fine by me anyhow.

It depends on whether you have a fiberglass hood of a carbon-fiber one really. CF is so damn light that hood pins would be the best way to go. Fiberglass, well, do as you like.

There are two large ducts for cooling the brakes and a venturi for downforce, i think radiator is up front also though I dont remember. here is a front pic of McLaren F1 http://www.plus4.freeserve.co.uk/macf1/mac042.jpg

Am I the only one that thinks that hood looks a lil overkill on a FD??? I like the Border Vented hood the best.

I don't understand that hood

It does look aggressive and gets attention. Damn, that Porsche GT! gave me an instant cargasm !

I tried to figure out that center scoop and someone just mentioned the same thing downforce, since it's a closed tunnel unlike the scoop for the Viper.

The rain is no problem when you are driving, the engine would never get wet. It's when you are parked that would be the problem.

Actually no... carbon fiber hoods are usually heavier since most of them are really just fiberglass hoods with an outer layer of carbon fiber. I think there are a few companies that make full carbon fiber hoods (Mazdaspeed?) but most of the ones you will see still use a fiberglass skeleton. Either way hood pins would be safer but probably not necessary.

how much of a problem would it be? i sadly, dont own an FD yet, but i would be interested in this hood when i get one... it doesnt rain too much around here, and i could get a weather proof car-cover to put on when i knew it was going to rain, but i think that would be a hassle... is it really such a problem? i would assume and vented hood would have this problem as well...

This one to me looks like one of the best FD's ive ever seen.. Kinda made me think of the badmobil when i first saw it. Nicely done car.

Even though i think this car looks nice i think that the scoot hood is TOO much on a stock car. IMHO you need everything to really make it look nice, although the pic of the car with just the c-west front end and the hood looked very nice.
