Question Any Good Gauges?

I was looking into getting some gauges for my car. I don't know any other FD owners. I'm not sure what kind of Pod or guages I should get. I want at least boost and EGT to start with. I'll worry about others later.

Scott (Coulthardfan) lives off Wisconsin Ave. north of R. St.
He has a silver Fd.

Defi makes nice guages.

I'll have to second Fd3BOOST's recommendation on Defi gauges, they are VERY nicel, I run them myself. As far as pods go I have a biased opinion, but many others will agree.....

"good" is a relative term. Everyone will have their own opinion as to what is "good". They all work. Take a look at them and see which ones catch your eye:

As far as what you should get; get a boost and water temp gauge. EGT will be useless right now unless you open track (SCCA type stuff) the car and even then it won't do you much good.

I like the Defi D Series Gauges. They match the stock ones as well. I should have pics soon.

I installed VDO vision series gauges in a 3 gauge din holder just below the single unit stock stereo. They look very much like the stock gauges, at a price that won't break the bank. VDO gauges are OEM on some Porsches, so quality is not an issue.

Mahjik is right.

There are quite a number of brands to choose from. Here are some off the top of my head:

Autometer
HKS (www.hksusa.com)
Blitz (www.blitz-na.com)
A'pexi (www.apexi-usa.com)
Omori Gauges
Power Enterprise (http://www.power-enterprise.co.jp/exp/catalog.htm)
Greddy (www.greddy.com)
VDO
Defi

if you can still find them the old blitz electronic gauges match the stock ones nearly perfect down to the font. black face white markings orange needle silver bezel and anti glare glass.

I found some gauges by HKS that I like. They seem on the cheap side. Another concern of mine is mounting them. I found a good center Pod, but I wanted one for the left side too. And I don't want to turn my car into Frankentien's monster by chopping up the dash a lot.
