Alpine 7894 installed w/ pics & speaker question...
Just installed bought the 7894 for $350 from ultimate electronics installed. Pretty good price seeing how the web's cheapest is about $300, plus the installation recommends a direct power feed from the battery which I had the guy run through the firewall...
This thing has several cool features, all of which I didn't know when I bought it. For what its worth - I think it is the best bang for the buck with a ton of highline features.
- 2 color - orange looks great w/ stock fd.
- blackout mode for improved "sound performance"
- built in programmable high/low cross over
-- ** programmable time correlation compensation - for both speakers and subs! (feature allows you to create various DSP like capabilities or just give the allusion that all speakers are equidistant from you
-- 60x4 watts - take that for what it's worth - but it was the most powerful unit I listened too.
-- angle feature - adjusts positioning 3 ways - don't really need it.
-- remote control - don't really need it
-- detachable face - same
-- 105db s/n
-- 3 sets of pre-outs
-- dim function that works with headlights
-- MP3 capable - rocks!
-- built in Q-control (tightness of the amplification of a particular range of bass frequencies)- rocks!
-- blah, blah, etc.
Here are some pics... now all i need is the pfc commander in amber
