4" dash speakers; S4 -plus door panel question-

my car has been without a stereo for long enough...

can anyone recomend a pair of 4" speakers that dont suck (not expecting uber bass or any bass at all... just speakers that put out good sound)?

in the case that all 4" speakers suck, i am prepared to cut and install 5 1/4" speakers into the doors. now my question in this case is... the door frames already have the cutouts for these correct? all i would have to do is cut the door panel, install and wire them up?

i have a base model that has the 4 inch up front. i picked up some pioneer 3 way speakers for 40$ new, and i got some 6 1/2 in the rear for 80$ (pioneer 4 way) . they dont "bump" but they do put out good sound. im sure with an external amplifier they would sound even better but for being on a budget they do well.

the other problem is the bass when driving is drowned out due to so much road noise. if the car is off the bass is noticable even with these small speakers, but as soon as the car is on and you are driving its gone. maybe because ive never had a stock exhaust...not sure.

i dont need big bass in my ride anyway... was just planning on strapping something like a 8" bass tube somewhere in the back.

thanks for the input though.
