3G Head Unit Removal SST

Just finished installing my new Alpine and thought I would share my tip for the project When you try to remove the stock head unit you will see there is a pair of holes on each side of the unit under a small plastic cover. There is supposed to be a special service tool to remove the radio from this point. Simply take a wire coat hanger and cut each of the corners off @ a length of ~ 2-3 inches. When you are done you should have 2 tools Make sure that the length of the corners is equal on both sides. To remove the head unit, simply slide the coat hanger ends in simultaneously. Pull towards the doors to create tension as you pull the unit out. Before doing this, you will want to remove the antenea connection that is located behind the radio on the passangers side footwell because it will hold the radio in if not. The job is textbook from there.
