300 Watt audio system safe for OEM alternator?
I have an FD, and im currently building a system and stumbled across a new Pioneer class D amplifier for a pretty good deal. Its 200 watts rms (4ohm) and 400 watts rms (2 ohm). I have a JL Audio 8W7 which is a 3 ohm subwoofer, so I'll probably be getting roughly around 300 watts rms.
I know this sub can handle a LOT more then 300 watts, but I dont wanna strain my alternator and I do not want to have to add a capacitor. My alternator has already been completely rebuilt, and reinstalled by me, and is functioning properly.
Mainly my question is.... Is 300 watts safe for a factory alternator without having to upgrade it?
