2k paint job

you guys think a 2k paint job is worth it? my car's paint is fine, but I really don't like the color. it's montego blue...when it's blue i really like it, but that green color when light shines on it is not to my liking. i'm not willing to spend 5k on a paint job (yet). but 2k i might. so what will 2k buy me? is it worth it? thanks for the input.

if your going to do it do it right and just wait. do you realize what you could spend 2 large on other than some half assed paint job? you'll be happier if you get exactly what you want.

Thumbs up Good Paint Job

It can be done, but you're really going to need good word of mouth. Find a body shop that specializes in Hot Rods or American Muscle Cars they do great work, but because our cars have so little surface area they may be willing to paint your car for cheap $2000. Speaking in relative terms ours small cars are a piece of cake when compared to the Hotrods. Pick up a Drive Magazine and start searching the ads. If you can't find a mag at your local news stand go to www.driveonline.com to locate one. Good Luck.

Normally "You get what you pay for" but I've seen expensive paint jobs that looked crappy too. 2k isn't too bad to work with, I would do as above check out some privately owned specialty paint shops and get some prices. My advice is to stay away from big car dealer body shops unless you have a hookup. They usually wind up giving you less for your money. You could possibly get a very nice paint job for 2k if you shop around.

in our area unless you go to one of 2-3 shops and pay top dollar it looks like someone painted the car with finger paint. have ivan show you examples

jeese, $2k is a CHEAP paintjob?!?!?!? can't imagine that it would cost that much. although i know nothing about getting a car painted or the cost involved for a good paintjob, but $2k sounds to me like it would be a good amount of money for just painting a car!!! guess i can plan on forking out some cash then when i get mine painted.
