I spit out money for some new equipment. As of now I have the following:
Memphis 16-st500d for a 10" MB quart PWD
Memphis PR-200 for Memphis 4" components
I was planning on running 4 gauge back to a fused disblock for these amps and run 4 gauge straight to them because I would like to get as much current as possible. Is there any benefeit really for using 4 gauge here?
My main question is, what fuse to use for these amps?
The 500d has 2-25a fuses and the 200 has 1-35a fuse, I am going to have anl fuse block so 60a is the lowest those go (i think). Would 2 60a fuses work? Should I just stick with agu fuses and get an agu dis block?
Thanks

Add up all the fuses. You need an 85 amp fuse. No, do not use two 60A fuses! You could use seperate fuses for each amp, but then you must run seperate power cables, which for your setup is overkill.

so for the fused dis block I should just try to match the amp fuses? I also heard that the value of the inline fuse doesn't matter as long as it can handle at least the average amperage draw.

run two 8 ga wiring kits from the battery one to each amp cost the same as 4 ga kit better current supply to each amp.
run 8 ga ground wire from each amp and ground to the same spot a close distance from amplifiers.
pay attention: THE FUSE AT THE BATTERY IS FOR VEHICLE PROTECTION NOT THE AMPLIFIERS. THE FUSE SHOULD BE RATED TO THE POWER WIRE THAT YOU USE.
8 ga maxi fuse 80 amp
use an inline maxifuse holder
also just from experiance : DONT USE AGU FUSES
