Don't keep getting logged out, but thrown back to the main page
This is all related to the original sticky at the top of the previous page. Mischief said something before it was locked, and it went a little like this...
Mischief:
are you guys having a problem when you click a thread it throws sends you right back to the forum index page? since i stopped signing in with facebook i havent gotten logged out as much but this happens just about every thread i click on.
Yeah, I get this problem EVERY time I click on a link for the first time after my auto-login when I come the web site using the remember me and saved pw on IE. I won't even touch Firefox cuz I can't do squat with that browser on this site. Yeah, maybe it is a User/Operator error, but since many people who use computers aren't computer gurus...maybe an admin could figure out the problem on their own so a handful of people wouldn't have the problem. Oh, and using the 99% of the people that use the site theory doesn't work for me. Simply put, if you look through the first 101 pages of the memberlist, you will find 5050 members with =/<5 posts. That is the number of posts you HAVE TO have in order to do a post in a thread under the first forum section. Many of those members haven't been back in days to years. 5050 of 152,000 is 3%. To find people with >5 but =/<11, you must travel to the 241st page of 872 of the member list and many of those people have not been back for days or years. All that being said, if we take 75% of the 'registered users' (I think this is a fair number) that have <11 posts (that's 50 reg users/pg x 241 pgs x .75 (75% for those who are mathematically illiterate) you get roughly 9037. Take the 9037 divided by the who community of 152,000 and that is 5.9%. This all being a mathematical equation of biblical proportions says that your 99% is a non-realistic number. Although by my generic explanation is probably just frustrating you to no end, just consider the amount of 'regular' users on the site, then think about the people who admit they are having trouble, and of course those frustrated few that just go elsewhere because their problem is not being solved because some jackwagon took an unrealistic guess that '99%' of the people don't have a problem with the site.
BTW, I opened up this account the old-fashion way....I registered 'at' the site and I still have the same problem with IE...just sayin.

Right now, we have 600+ members and guests on the website having no problems at all.
That comes out to 99% of the board having no problems right now when only 6 folk seem to have this unique and highly unusual problem. It's either your antivirus software, a bad add-on, an old java add-on or plain old user error in the Internet Option settings on their PC's.
Thread was closed for a reason, the Admins can't help working at the problem from this side of the house. Just say no to Facebook, also. Big problems there as well. Repair your OS with the fix-it CD.
