wiring up a s5 tps
well i got this throttle body for an s5 that was wired for haltech or so i was told. it doesn't have a stock connector on it but the three wires coming from each tps are not hooked up to each other . one is just chilling unhooked so i was wondering if anyone has wired up an s5 tps for haltech or do you guys just use the oem plugs off the harness? and if so i need a new s5 tps with both sides of each plug.
thanks in advance.

um the s5 has 2 separate TPS sensors. it has a narrow range and a wide range.
the narrow range reads the first 1/3rd or so of throttle travel.
the wide range looks at all of the throttle travel.
the stock ecu uses the narrow range for idle, and low speed running, as well as emissions control, the wide range is primarily for the metering pump.
the haltech, being both more modern and simpler, only needs one signal, you want the wide range.
so if you look at the throttle body, and open and close it, its pretty easy to see which tps to use, FSM has the wiring, or you could search the forum

well ok the long range is connected and the short range is the disconnected on with cut wires. and for the omp the tb has been modified to work with the manual omp. so the short range tps is unnecessary? or does it need to be hooked up?

Ya don't need the narrow-range TPS. The full range will work just fine. Here's how ya wire it up on the FC:
- The factory throttle body uses two black TPS's with a 6-prong white plug:
TPS side of plug / Mazda wiring harness side of plug / Haltech E6K 3-lead TPS wiring harness
BLUE BROWN/BLACK/BLUE BLACK (TPS Ground)
PINK BROWN/WHITE ORANGE (5VDC +ve)
YELLOW BLUE/GREEN/RED WHITE (Signal)
ORANGE BROWN/WHITE/BLACK Unused
GREEN/RED GREEN/RED/RED Unused
BLACK/ORAGE BROWN/BLUE/BLUE Unused
