So who was the first? Platinum Rotary Install
Well my engine is running with a Sport 1000 (well kind of sticking primaries). I didn't get my Sport 1000 till this last week so I would think some one else beat me to it with a 2000. Any anyone else running a platinum on a rotary? Love the software and datalogging so far....

I have a customer that has a 1000 up and running on an ITS road race car using a patch loom. Have one more I'm building a custom harness for next week. Those two were/are being shipped out so I won't get to have hands on either. I'll actually get my first crack at it in about a week when another ITS car is dropped off for conversion.
After spending a LOT of time manually importing an E8 fuel map for the 1000 for the car that's currently running, Haltech introduced the updated software that allows the E8 maps to be imported about 2 days later.

Finally got my first install up and running. I have to say I haven't found anything about the Platinum I dislike except the lack of laptop logging. The new software is very nice. Only problem is that you can create so many information icons it makes me feel I need a big wide-screen laptop!

Yeah not having the laptop logging really sucks during initial setup on a car. The onboard only having 10 channels with varying rates also don't help. I was told this should be fixed before the end of the year though.

You still believe them when they say things like that?

There is a pair of 3/4 chassis cars in Puerto Rico that are getting PS2Ks, one of them has already been tuned and was doing track testing last night, power result is around 880hp out of a 13B, im waiting to find out exactly how the car did.
I will try to post results on it soon. The car is the R100 built by the PMS Race Cars crew in Puerto Rico.
Some info about this car from their site:
1970 Mazda R100
Stock+Fiberglass body
25.1 NHRA Certified chassis built by PMS Race Cars
Liberty 5 Speed tranny
Methanol fuel, running 4 Moran 600lb injectors (yes! they work well with the Haltech!!)
32.5 x 14 rear slicks
Best 1/4 mile time 7.34 @ 184mph (on the previous EMS)
Best 60ft. time 1.07s
EDIT! I just spoke with their tuner, car made 887hp on the dyno at 38psi, and last night at the track on the first pass it managed a 7.90 but boost was oscillating from an apparent solenoid problem, they use something else to control boost, not the haltech. Dont know what the other passes were. But so far the results have impressed them very much.
Ill try to get more info.

Well that just makes the 180-ish the car I'm working on should make sound totally unimpressive!

what do you mean by laptop logging? how do you datalog with the platinum?

The E8/11 and now the Platinums have onboard logging. Meaning the data is stored in the ECU and then downloaded to a laptop for viewing. Onboard logging is a great feature for use at the track but is not as fluid to use as laptop logging on the dyno.
