Problem with my coils...
I'm so farking confused it's not even funny.
Riddle me this: I have 6 LS1 coils running off my E11. The first three coils are fine. The rear three (T2, L3, T3) don't show spark when I crank, BUT if I unplug the lead running to them and plug them back in, they will spark each time I connect them.
It's NOT the wiring. I checked that by plugging the lead from L3 into the L1 coil. No spark upon connecting, which is how it should be. What the hell is going on?
I have 8 days left to get this car running for the Deals Gap meet, so any help is appreciated!

An update...
It turns out that somehow (I never figured out how) the coils that weren't firing had 12 volts on the SIGNAL wires. Obviously that would explain why simply plugging them in would cause a spark. We pulled the entire harness and redid all the solder points as well as generally went over the harness.
After a few tries, the car started but it was back to running super rich (i.e. clouds of fuel smoke). The car would rev pretty well in neutral but driving it was awkward. My friend reached down to adjust the CAS without telling me and caused the car to die. No matter what I did I couldn't get the car to start again. I tried adding more priming fuel but that didn't help. It was like the motor was on the verge of starting again but it couldn't quite make it. Part of that is probably due to only having 15 miles on the break-in.
I'm planning to try swapping the stock 2 Bar MAP sensor for a 3 bar as a test; of course, I'll have to get a 3 bar map since it won't work right with the 2 bar map I already have.
Help!

unplug the trailing and fire it just on the leading.
turn the idle screw up to get it to hold idle while you re-zero the timing, then turn it back down.
after that, plug the trailing back in, triple check the wiring and make sure each coil is wiried to the right plug--put them on and hook them up one at a time if you have to.

Do a compression check just to see if everything is A-OK?

i've never done a rebuild that wouldn't key-start.
'building" compression is usually the last 5-15 psi. if the compression isn't good enough to start right-off, take it apart and find out what's wrong.
