Haltech Newest E8 firmware?

Newest E8 firmware?
Sorry if this has been covered before, but I got stuck answering a bunch of threads in here prior to posting this. :P
Okay, since I started to serious mess with the E8 again, the old datalog bugs are starting to annoy me.
I'm running the "previous generation" firmware, and using the older 1.62 (1.64?) Halwin.
1.71 is out, and this requires the new firmware version.
Does this new firmware fix all the dumb datalog bugs?
I'm talking specifically about the real-time display, since mines just gets stock to scale RPM's.
Is there a way to manually force the scale so that I can monitor air temps / water temps easier?

I'm still waiting for a new improved version of software. Said to be a soon to be realeased 1.8 something version. When I called haltech in my decision to purchase the then new e8 I made it clear I wanted supported and updates on the current software version. (Since i was coming from the e6k) They said that the E8 will be fully supported for years to come.
Two years later I'm still waiting for some software changes. I am no computer programmer and have no idea in the amount of work that is required to make some changes but it seems to be alot since nothing has happened yet.
Over all the haltech works as it should with a few minor inconviences and bugs and crashes that is blamed on vista and operator error

There is a newer version already circulating but not in full release just yet. I haven't encountered any bugs yet. Don't expect anything vastly different than the earlier versions. Just a polished version of the 1.82B. Patience.
Also, I wouldn't expect a complete rework of the software to look/work more like the Platinum. It's just not going to happen.

car is running fine, just in waste spark
and no, it wasn't the coils or wiring. i swapped out coils for brand new ones, checked/rechecked wiring, and everything is correct.
it just doesn't fire 2 of the 4 plugs on direct fire. waste spark is perfect.
also, wanna send me your BAC settings?

any update on when this new firmware will be released? i feel like i spent more money for an E8 and can't use any of the cool stuff it supposedly does (closed loop boost, idle, AFR) that the e6 series didnt.

Seriously??? No really. They need to update their software.
My post on the haltech forum.
Any news on this new release. There is alot of bugs alone on the 1.7 version and when I upgraded from the e6K to the then new E8 haltech told me they will support the e8 for a very long time. Needless to say I decided to stay with the haltech assuming I will get support on new software from haltech. That was why I choose to stay with haltech. Well here it is years later and no new developments.
-I can't get it to display a/f ratios during laptop datalogging.
-staging map cannot be edited online. (You have to make a change live and cycle the key on and off for changes to take. Don't ask me how long I fooled around with staging wondering why things were all messed up!)
-Closed loop control map can only be edited live on 2d. Text mode the changes don't actually save.
-It would be nice to tag the aux outputs with text on what you use them for.
-would be nice for a header to state which map you are on rather then guessing.
-Make a programable output to toggle a led or alarm for a set of parameters. Like any of the above boost/temp/rpm etc. All of them rather then one output for each.
-Get egt?
-Get knock?
-Make datalogging trace directly to map cell for tuning ease.
-Decel fuel cut. Mine will not cut out if it sees .2%. So I have inconsistent decel fuel cut. I guess this on is my fault since my tps differs by +-.3%
But I guess otherwise the car runs like it should and once you learn to work around these issues the program works like it should..
And I guess I will add................ Com port baby! USB is for the dark ages.........

If your map started with on of the old firmware versions (don't know where the line of demarcation is) and you upgrade to 1.71, then your going to end up with **** not working and being buggy, until you start over.
I don't know if it affects going from 1.62-1.71, that would be a question, I called and told Claudio this info.

There is a lot of features that i do like on the beta but some i won't use. Everyone seems to be stressing the auto tune but until they perfect it i will stay away. What other features should i avoid. The main things i want are the closed loop boost control and the timed ignition interrupt for cluthless shifting.
Thanks

I don't think the above would work for a stock trans... Never tried it so I am talking out of my ***, but generally ignition interrupts for clutch less shifting works for dog boxes, such as the air shifter I have on my motorcycle.
If using 1.82B then be very careful with the launch control, I had huge issue with it.

What issues did you have with the launch control? I have just been using the MSD two step.
I am currently running a dog box.
