Haltech New to Haltech

New to Haltech
Before I start doing much modification to my vehicle I have decided to go ahead and get fuel management. The car is basically stock right now. All that has been done is a down pipe and intake. I also disabled the air pump. Right now im hitting 12psi and my AFRs are down in the 12s but I want to be safe and get something that I can make changes whenever I upgrade parts. So I have pretty much decided on a Haltech. I work at a shop that is a vendor for Haltech, Fcon, PFC, and I can also get other fuel controllers. I just want to keep my tuning options a little more flexible so Im thinking the Haltech is the way to go. This is my first RX7 so im not really sure which Haltech to get. Any suggestions. Im looking at the platinums because I like the fact that it has all the programmable outputs. Which versions are you guys using and what is the best one to get for a rotary.
Thanks for your help
AJ
Also what is the best tuner for rotaries to go to in the GA, ATL area. I dont mind driving to surrounding states as long as its only a few hours away.

Yeah I kind of thought that 12s were a little low on the AFR side also. That is one of the reasons that I am getting fuel control handled first. Where should my AFRs be around. I have read posts on here that people claim the AFRs need to be nice and rich and should never be over 13s.

Killah does your friend at Jim Ellis have access to a dyno or is he going to street tune it? I would prefer that I get a dyno tune that way I can graph out the torque, HP, and AFR and make sure that everything is tuning out fine. I might be able to work something out with my work place and let him tune on my dyno at the shop. How long has he been tuning?

no he doesn't have a dyno he has tuned cars at dyno lab. he's been dealing with rotaries and haltech for years. if you look at my sig. Juankel Performance, he also does alot of fabrication work, manifolds(intake&exhaust), chasis work too. he has an all out drag car that should run 8s with ease. let me know if you're interested i can let you meet him.

So killah when could I meet up with you and your friend. I would be interested in talking to him about tuning. If I could arrange for it would he be able to tune on my shop dyno? Its a dyno dynamics.

SirCygnus... what kind of price range are you looking for on Haltechs. I may be able to get you a small price break. I think that all I can get thru work is the ones that Haltech offers on there page. I get a small discount though because we have a vendor account. Im looking at getting the P1000

FIY, E8 and E11v2 are already out of production as of now. Sport 1000 and 2000 are the systems of choice. You may be able to get E8's and E11's through the dealers that still have stock though.

Yours isnt a dinosaur, your is just an older model :P. My philosophy, if it aint broke, dont fix it.
