I know what your saying but there is no harm in trying it.

and all you got to do is splice IG 1 to both leadings. IG3 and IG 4 remain in their current configuration and run T1 and T2 respectively.

unless you're implying that somehow the IGN1 will work when i switch to wastespark. i suppose i could go out and try this relatively easily.

to run wastespark all i'll need to do is splice the IGN1 wire to the signal for two of my coils (two leadings) and use IGN2 and IGN3 for the T1 and T2 coils, correct? will i need to change any of my other ignition settings?

i've got it running on wastespark. the two leadings (IGN1 x2) are firing correctly, the T1 (IGN2) is firing correctly, and the T2 (IGN3) is not firing.

so i just disconnected the trailings and i'm rolling around in vacuum. atleast its running smooth

Did I read this right?

IG2 does not get used in Waste spark mode.

Is it in distributor mode (as in FC with stock coils)?

ok so if you're correct, then i have my trailings hooked up incorrectly in wastespark mode.

right now i have it wired like so:
IGN1 is spliced into the #1 and #2 coils

IGN2 is T1
IGN3 is T2

so you're saying i need to have IGN3 T1 and IGN4 T2?

Yep you got IG1 correct. IG2 Unused IG3 T1 IG4 T2, with IG mode wastspark

Yep, just like dirrect ignition save for not using ign 2 and splicing IG 1 to both lead coils.

Don't take my word for it go to the haltech aux output setup page and see for yourself that IG2 is configurable, as in not used when using wast spark.

I would assume its setup like this to make it so less has to change in the wiring if changing modes around.

Slo's correct. It's outlined in the manual.

that explains why my T1 wasn't working and my T2 was way off

regardless, only ign2/ign3 work on direct fire mode, so hopefully i can come up there this weekend and swap haltech boxes with you, ludwig
