Injectors failed OPEN??

Here's the deal. I was driving along zipped into boost at low throttle low RPM and saw the wideband show lean like 16-1. Back into vac and its running normal.

Back into boost and it goes uber lean again then swings rich with no audible detonation. I think I blew some apex seals which is no big deal I have very little money invested in this motor.

So I coast to a stop, able to start the engine with it rolling in gear but it runs like **** sounds like its running on 1 and it pegged the WB at 9-1.

Still think the engines blown.

Anyways today I was troubleshooting, pulled out t he plugs, and holy **** I have compression.

I don't know what made me do it but I drained the fuel, and put in five gallons of fresh premium thinking it could be some massive fuel contamination issue.

Go to start and it wants to start but doesn't. Shortly there after the motor hydro locks (never experienced this before) and there is fuel dumping out of the exhaust. at every joint.

So what do you think is it possible I have an injector failed open??

car has 550-1300.

Injectors where recently cleaned, all haltech stuff looks good, car pulls about -2.5PSI cranking vacuum.

Certainly possible. Doesn't take much debris to stick one. Pull the injectors and have them checked.

Odd that so much debris would get past the fuel filter.

Well plan of action is to replace the fuel filter and have the injectors cleaned and change the oil.

But first for the hell of it I am going to put a different map on the haltech and reload the firmware.

Is it possible one of the injector trigger wires rubbed through and shorted to ground? That would hold the injector open.

Strange.

All parameters look OK while cranking? No sensors pegged one way or the other?

Thats the only other thing that comes to my mind.

Iv'e seen the old Holley projection injectors seize open... filled the throttle body in 2 seconds then overflowed all over the motor
