ignition wiring help platinum sport 1000

I am installing my platinum sport 1000 into my s4 T2 and i am questioning the ignition wiring, this is what i have found from my research is this correct?

ignition 1 (yellow/blk tracer) = leading coil pinkish wire
ignition 2 (yellow/red tracer)= trailing coil pinkish wire
ignition 3 (yellow/orange tracer)= trailing coil white wire
ignition 4 (yellow/green tracer)= ????????????? (if its even used)??????

and on my harness tagged as ign. wires there is a thicker red/yellow tracer, and a blue/yellow tracer. i cannot figure out what these are for.

do i have this correct and any input on those wires i cant figure out?

thanks guys

on my wiring diagram i believe i found the thicker (red/yellow tracer) wire. it shows it going from the ignition power relay and it says to run it to ignition coils?

The E8/E11/Sport1000/2000 have an extra relay for Ignition Coil Power, unlike the old E6's where they only had main and fuel pump. This Yellow/Red wire is your power source for the coils, and it comes from one of the relays in the harness via a fuse in the fuse block.

The 4th ignition output wire isnt used, since you are trying to control your stock FC coils which is the "Toggle" strategy. This wire can be used for anything else like a PWM, or activation of a device, fan, nos, boost, etc.

okay so i have it all wired up like my first post, and i ran the yellow/red wire to +12v power. is that correct?

and for the extra wire, i can run that for say...launch control? which i would splice it into a wire on the clutch switch? (which wire does anybody know?)

Wrong!!

Those wires HAVE POWER, so you can power up your coils, they're not meant to be connected to power!

Do you have the wiring diagram.

so can i run this red/yellow wire to the gray wires on the coils???

and i am planning on running two electric cooling fans through haltech. do i need any additional relays? or will the ecu control the fans? any write up's for this wiring?

The Yellow/Red wire is your voltage INPUT to the coils, this wire will provide the power to the coils. The ignition outputs are for the ignitors to know when to fire the coil... READ THE MANUAL. It has all of this information.

As far as your Electric fan, you will use a PWM output(selectable in the software), and because the PWM's are negative GROUND, you will want to use a separate relay to provide the power to the fan. I would recommend using a switched power source, with a gauge of wire relative to the amperage that your fans will be pulling. Probably won't be over 30/40 amps(as a safe bet) Make sure you fuse the power source wire for the relay as well.

Once wired you just have to set up the conditions that you want the fan to operate(High temp-ON, low temp-OFF)

When running the stock coils, do I need to replace the Black/Yellow Ign-ON line with the Red/Yellow Coil Input?

No you can use the factory power wires for the coils, the signal wires to the coils are the vital ones.
