When I had my E6K I used the stock FD Idle air control motor. It was one of the best things to hook up. You will have to play with you min/max settings. You will love it since your idle will be rock solid, if you key in 900, it will idle at 900, if you key in 1000, it will idle at 1000.
The reason it is very useful is as follows. In cold mornings, you can have the car idle up to 1200 when the coolant temp is X. When the coolant temps reach 180deg or whatever, the idle will then drop to 800 etc.
As for directions, I am unable to locate them now. It was pretty simple. I think if you search the Haltech Yahoo group you will see one of my long posts on how to hook it up.
Someone on here should know how to hook it up. Josh Stanley had a great site and knows this inside out but I am not sure if he still has the site up.
Hope this helps...

Actually, the other side goes to +12VDC.
Connect the second wire to any of the spare PWM wires (1 through 4).
The Haltech sends a ground PWM signal.
If you got a spare +12VDC switched wire (gray with red stripe), that will make wiring easy.
