How much to tune Haltech?

Ok so after my wreck, I will be getting $2600 to fix my car. Couple hundred for paint and stuff, so Ill have $2000+ to spend on stuff. My friend has a Haltech from an RX-7 that hes trying to get rid of for around $500-600, and I was wondering about how much you paid to tune your Haltech. And about how much power and torque did it have?

Never thought Id gone standalone on my N/A!!

Yeah its based on a Haltech, so it belongs in here. And your kinda right not a lot of traffic inhere...

Your question is kinda vauge, you want to know how much it costs to tune a haltech, what horsepower gain/torque you can expect? Well those questions really depend on a lot a things. Who does the work where its done at, if you try to install it first and then someone has to fix it etc.. The power question is even more vague.

I understand my experiences will be different from others, but Im curious to see what other people paid to get it tuned, and what their results were.

I've got about 4K (aus) in my E11 install so far.

I'm down about 40KW, and it runs like a pile of ****.

Not happy, Jan.

without some major modifications to the intake and exhaust of the N/A engine you will be making basicly the same HP and torque as the OEM system. a good port job(street, bridge, PP, etc), custom intake and exhaust systems and a properly tuned fuel injection system could net near 300hp. but just adding the standalone EMS will not increase power by itself. as for tuning I have spent as little as $500 and more than a couple thousand. it depends on the results you want.

if the only thing done to the car was a haltech. E6K or so, then good tuning can yield about a 40hp gain on an FC, because the stock system is so restrictive. can't say about an FD. it's about $300-$400 dollars depends on the tuner. but you'll need at least that.

Hey Mark!

I finally caught up with Bryan yesterday.
If I'd had him do the install in the first place I doubt I would have been without my car for more than a few days, instead of the six months it has taken so far.
He is the man!! I am VERY impressed, and he'll be getting all my business from now on.
He has sorted out nearly all the problems I was having, and is going to Dyno the car next week for me..
Looking forward to meeting you next time you're in town!
