Haltech Haltech Introduces Elite ECU at SEMA

Depends on what coil is used. The ECU does not have built-in ignition drivers. Most do not. The ECU will directly control any coil with a built-in driver. The IGN-1A coil would be the obvious choice. The ECU for sale you mentioned is packaged with an M&W CDI box. There are several Pro Mod racers making 3000hp on methanol who have ditched their magnetos for the IGN-1A coils. They'll support "big power".

No accelerometer. We'll be offering one though. Traction control can be configured versus g, steering angle, etc. Could actually be configured versus peanut butter to jelly ratio if you configure a sensor to measure it. That's the sort of user configuration you could do.
Not holding out. I just haven't had an opportunity to play with it. Been building harnesses. Unfortunately, it's going to be a bit before I get a chance to really explore the capabilities.

Without starting any kind of flame war... Does this have any functionality that the adaptronic does not have (other than different software interfaces)?
I have a TECGT on my current car (which won't work for a 20b). I'm familiar with the software and could pick up a TEC3R, but would like to explore this new generation of ecu's on my new build.

Split timing and staged injection is not available yet. There are still a lot of trigger patterns that need to be developed as well. Staged injection for sure and most likely split timing should be available in the first firmware update.
We talked with a couple of the Aussies, including the owner of the company, at length this past weekend at the WCF at MIR and expressed our desires for things to develop more quickly. Unfortunately, for those who hate to wait, Haltech takes a pretty conservative approach to development and tries really hard to have any kinks worked out before release. Things like the trigger patterns are all new code. Even if they supported a pattern with the Sport or Pro, it's all new code for the Elite. And they will not release it until it's been run by them on a car and confirmed to work. They're not simply running it on a simulator or through a signal generator like some do. So it's frustrating waiting but they've proven over the last several years to produce products that are largely bug free when compared to much of their competition and a huge leap over the results the company generated years ago with the previous ownership. So the approach is hard to argue with.
Hopefully we'll get some rotary beta firmware soon and I'll be happy to share anything we learn.

Trick question... does the plug end on the E8 the same as the ellite?
Or do I need to re-pin the full connector into the new one (dont want to replace the loom, only 5 years old as a guess)

Here is the Sport 2000 to Elite 2500 swap guide. I haven't went through it for a Sport 1000 swap, but it would be easy enough to figure out.

Rotary Support will be coming in February. Along with alot more added features from what I understand. I was at the Haltech Seminar at PRI. I would highly recomend a going to a seminar if its possible. Ive never used a haltech before but I can probably setup a elite my first time in absolutely no time at all. One of the best features is the built in wire diagram. After you setup how you want to setup the inputs and outputs it will generate the specific diagram to how you set it up. Ive never seen that before. as DBW seems to just about universal. They had a Coyote running engine setup and a GM TB all working. im not sure about the older 7 pin gm dbw stuff though.
