E8 WB Closed loop PID settings?
Does anybody have a recommended proportional and intergral settings for a closed loop control on the E8.
No matter what I do it always pegs it to the max limit of reduction or addition. (mine is set to 10%)
I tried to set it up for two hours on the highway. My target a/f map is set. It should be relatively easy to set up. Before I upgraded to 1.89 it appeared to work properly. Also there is nothing wrong with my wideband hook up or operation of the wideband.
I basically set everything to 0 and just increased proportional until i see the it hit setpoint and oscilate. It never hit anything. At 100% proportional band it would just sit at 2% correction and not even make it close to the target setpoint. When I set the intergral to .10 it slowly would increase to 10% and sit there.
It appears as if it does not work at all. I was going to use the E8 for closed loop boost response but it doesn't appear to work at all in closed loop??
Anybody with the E8 V1.89 soft actually have a working closed loop?
Ian
P.S. Yup I am the one that was fighting with the autronic 500R/E8 install. it all works well know. 300km and counting.

Rule of thumb for setting the PID's is first and foremost the Derivative is ALWAYS ZERO.
Then, bring the Proportional upwards in 5% increments until the AFR start to oscillate. Then start bringing up the Integral until the oscillation is canceled out. Usually the Integral will be approximately half of the Proportional.

Awesome. Played with it for a while. Sort of hard seeing the response on the wideband display. Maybe with some datalogging it will be easier. Either way it appeared to oscillate a bit regardless of settings. Probable due to my tune?
My settings were Proportional 30% and intergral .25%
