E6K Timing Adjustment
I am having troulble with timing adjustment/ setting of my E6k on my 1990 Turbo II. I'm using the 4x720cc injector 3bar, 13 BT map. The timing on this map appears to not work with ym setup. I have tripple checked the wiring, CAS setup, the haltach has power and recognises all the sensors. The engine crakns over but isn't firing properly. We have verified the "weird" timing with a timing light. I am running a stock ignition btw. I CAN:T FUGURE OUT WHY SHE WON"T START!!! plz help!!
Thanks!

have a look at your tooth offset value on your ignition set up page, i am picking it will be set at either 2 or 3, set it to 1 and then see if it starts, i had very similar problems to what you are describing, matt sent me a map and we still couldn't figure it out, the map ran every one else cars fine, but i hd the tooth offset at 3 instead of 1, changed it to one, and bobs ya uncle, fanny's ya aunt and away we go and so did my clutch. oh well, had to do something with the gearbox too so just gave me an excuse

on the engine output page are you reading the correct rpm when compared to the tach? If you are then check that all the plugs are clean and firing if not then you may have a problem with the ECU. Mine was reading about 400 rpm low and at cranking speed it would not fire and start regularly. I had to have Haltech fix this problem on my E6K. it turns out that some mazda CAS are not picked up correctly by the internal reluctor, Haltech new exactly what the problem was and fixed it and returned it to me in two days. had to next day air the thing but it worked as soon as I plugged it in. they said it was a resistor that needed to be removed. On my firends car this was not necessary as it worked right out of the box. I usually call the guys in Australia for questions but the guys in Texas repaired it.

Do you have an inductive timing light?
You need to verify it's firing at the right place, no matter whose procedure you're using to initialize timing.
Lock the Haltech to -5 and shoot any of the leadings leads.
Hitman doesn't normally come in here, but you're welcome to join the Haltech Support Yahoo Groups...
