E6K AEM smart coils... Resistors?
So here is my issue. I have an 85 gs with 13b swap. Running the E6K but need to know how to wire it up to my 4 new AEM Smart coils. I was told that I need to wire resistors in line... Can anyone tell me what resistance and where at to wire them.. Also I am a bit confused on the wiring since everyone i seem to find on the internet is hooking it up to an FC or FD stock harness.... I have no stock Harness... Just the E6K harness. How to wire three wires it seems from the harness to 4 coils...
Thanks Much!

No resistors needed.
IGN 1 - L1 and L2 pin A
IGN 2 - T1 pin A
IGN 3 - T2 pin A
Pins B and C connect to engine ground, top of the rotor housing is easy
Pin D connects to battery ground
Pin E connects to battery positive through a fuse and relay
Spark mode needs to be wastespark. Double check this before you connect the coils. See my thread on direct-fire v. distributor mode.

Thanks Chris! hopefully I can find sometime soon to get this wiring all done.. I still need intake air temperature sensor coolant temperature sensor and some other things I'm going to get them all from you just because you have been so helpful and never asked for anything! even though I work at autozone a can easily get them all here..
thanks again you're very helpful

20 amp fuse will work fine.
Maybe the guy that profited from the sale can explain how everything works. I barely have time to tell all you guys how to make the stuff you buy from other people work.

Shouldn't the engine and battery ground be the same?
yes, but not rally. try and keep them different. unless its something small like a light or something. if it says battery negative specifically, then use it. if it says ground specifically, use either.
also what amp fuse do you recommend?
answered
Do i use ignition on to power up the relay?
yup
can all 4 coils run on the same fuse and relay?
yup
sorry if i am a little slow... and if you have a second could you explain how this works with 4 coils and three signal wires from the ecu?
leading fires at the same time. trailing coils fire at different times. thats why leading comes off one coil pack.

I apologize.. I had every intention of purchasing the Sprint RE from you. I just had a great deal fall into my lap on the used e6k. I can understand if you are upset but like i said i will be purchasing sensors and a connector from you. I know its not a whole lot but an attempt to repay you for your advice. I can easily get them from my work but am not going to.. I just need to figure out which CTS I want to use. Again thanks for your help!

It's fine. It's not you in particular. I just see so much of this. I'm here to help the community but I also run a business and work very hard to support my customers. The bottom line is, I get very upset when others, who are selling products, don't support their customers and those guys end up running in here looking for help.
Unless your water pump has been tapped for the 3/8" sensor, you want the 12mm sensor. Stock application for that sensor is the 97 Corvette.
