Ive heard that the autotronic autotune isn't really usefull for tunning on boost where the engine speed and load changes rapidly, but that it can help nail things down with fine adjustments.
I wonder if haltech autotune will be the same.

Some of the guys from Dynodynamics dyno were in town a couple of weeks ago and they were speaking about the auotune stuff from Haltech. The impression I got was that they were very impressed with the operation of the autotune.
Only time will tell.

Interestingly enough i actually made a excel spread sheet that will tune a haltech based on a data log. Because the haltech saves the data logs in a coma separated file format it can be directly copied into excel where I made a big-ol spread sheet to give you a new fuel table based upon the AFR’s you specify. It even gives you nifty little graphs of all the data and AFR’s. it actually worked pretty damn well. im sure this will be much better though, and im very excited for it.

I have a SM4 and my engine is tuned with atotune and it's realy good. Nailed my AF at 15 psi dead on in 2 pulls. It was excatly the AF ratio i set from 2500 all the way to 8000 rpm with the autotune.
Works like a charm. U need to have a wideband with a 0-1v narrowband output, and set the parameters right in the autronic.
Hopefully the haltech will be just as easy to use.
BTW the autronic adjusts the fuel while u are driving. I could feel it changing the fuel when holding rpm and pressure.

Just because the wideband is outputting a 0-1 volt signal doesn't mean its going to be innacurate.
I was just supprised that an ECU that expensive wouldn't nativley accept a 0-5 volt input.

I was bored at work, so I emailed haltech. Dave did an excellent job tuning my car, but I really want to use this to fine tune out the difference that came about as a result of the change in altitude from @4500' to sea level. This is what they said:
Hello,
The firmware/software will certainly be available for everybody. I don't feel
the software will be ready for public release in the next week however.
As soon as there is a public release you will be e-mailed to let you know.
If there is anything else we can do please let me know,
