Haltech 8 injector wiring

8 injector wiring
I am going to run 8 injectors on my rx7. I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to wire them up seeing the Haltech has only four injector wires.

But, at any rate, you wire 2 per driver, im assuming you will have 4 primaries and 4 secondaries? or will you configure them differently?

OkClaudio here goes..... Im running 8 injectors on a PP engine with a PT91 turbo.. I need the eight. So to wire eight I would splice each of the 4 inj wires into 2? I dont think I need resistors as per the Haltech manual. It will be a staged setup. Your help is much appreciated...

Yes. You'll run the 12V+ to each injector in parallel. Then you'll do the same with each of the four injector outputs. Pair the injectors for each channel.
For simplicity sake you might be interested in this thread.

If the injectors are low impedance, you will have to enable the extra injector driver option in the Output Setup to 8A for each driver, that way you'll garantee it will funtion correctly.
What you do is take Inj1 and connect it to the first pair of primary injectors, then Inj2 to the second, and then, Inj3 to the first pair of secondaries, and Inj4 to the other, thats it.
Set fuel to stagging and voila! But like RETed said, what exactly are you trying to do, cause 8 injectors is probably overkill, unless you only have 550cc injectors.

The haltech will handle 2X1600cc bosch 5ohm injectors per driver without any problems. I've even ran three injectors per driver on a 12-injector staged setup on a street application without any problems for many years.
BTW. Which ecu and fuel type are you using?

No, it is a 13B. I want it setup where i can run from 15PSI on pump gas to 35PSI on methanol. If crispeed was running in groups of three injectors that would that mean he was idling on 6 1600cc injectors???

It would probably idle much better with 850s in the primaries. I have been toying around with the idle of triple stage injection. It is kinda hard to explain but i will give it a try. You run output 1&2 to your primary injectors and 3&4 to your secondaries, nothing special there. You run the extra injector outputs to the rest of the injectors. Normally the extra outputs would pulse with the primary/secondary outputs but here is where my idea comes in. Run a load based 12V output to the positive side of the injector. That way even though the injector is receiving a signal on the negative side it will not fire until you reach the point where the load based output applies 12V. I don't know if this will work or not but if it would you could run triple staged injection on 12 injectors with as little as 4 injection outputs and 1 generic load based output (as long as 1 load output would power up 8 injectors). What do you think?

How many amps will a E11 injector driver put out (safely)? I was thinking about what crispeed said. 3-5 ohm injectors off one driver. When wired parallel you end up with 1.6667 ohms total. With a voltage of 12, and 1.6667 ohms you end up with 7.19986 amps. I don't know what effect a peak and hold injector would have, weather it would peak at 7.19986 amps and drop to a lower amperage to sustain.
