680cc Injectors (Are they really???)

Hey guys,

I wanted to get this out in the open, cause i have actually had these installed a few years back on a T2 i had. I have the part number for these injectors, they match what everybody has, they're orange, etc., its said that they are 680cc/min, but, i had a set of 720's i bought brand new and i flow tested these 680's against them on an Asnu machine, after having cleaned them up well, and the results were that the 720's actually flowed less when tested at the same time.

According to my and the flow bench tech's calculations, those injectors are somewhere in the ballpark of about 800cc's or more.

So, every time i talk to someone about these injectors i try to correct this information.

These injectors are supposed to come fro 84-85 RX-7s, with only 2 injectors on them, their part number is 195500-0900 or Mazda P/N N304-13-250, there's also another version, i believe the 12A turbo also has only 2 injectors, and these are dark blue on the connector.

If anybody can confirm these part numbers, and pretty much be able to take their injectors and have them flow matched against a known of 72lb (750cc) or 83lb (850cc) injector at the same flow/pulsewidth/pressure we could finally confirm this theory of mine.

Some of the colors and not to mention the part numbers on ND injectors don't always add up.

You probably got a set of later 12A turbo injectors unless they were modified by someone else.

Yes its possible, but mine matched the info i had that said they were 680's and they were told to me as 680's. So, lets see if we can confirm this.

DIBS! ive been contemplatig 680cc vs 720 so i dont have to worry about the resistor pack, yadda yadda. I've heard this a few times that the 680cc flow between 750-800cc. sounds like a good deal to me. more is better than too little...as long as you have tuning abilities

Found this chart, that indicates their flow rate, and its obviously higher than the 550's so, i guess we'd need numbers on a set of 720's to determine whats what.

Have a look!

The chart states that is the flow for the injectors in CC's in a 15 second period. I would assume at 43.5psi of static fuel pressure, and at either max duty or a specific duty. Either way, you can clearly see the difference inflow rate between those and a set of 550's.

Mazda? the part number is right there. But they cost too much, just buy a set of 83lb injectors from anywhere.
