new sleek kit

sounds good. i wont have a whole lot of updates for a bit, i have to wait for some outside companies.
also i did redesign the shroud bracket. it will look very similar, but the tweaked bracket will offer better fitment, slightly easier installation, and i made the width of the metal "U" wider thus offering a bit more strength.
i do want to include a bit of a disclaimer. go easy on the shroud bracket during install. while it is plenty strong it is only 16 ga steel and most parts are strictly flat and can still be bent. now i do want to say that it WILL NOT just bend while you are holding it, however it is set on the ground and it were to get stepped on it will bend. once it is all installed strength will not be a concern at all. the combination of bracket, shroud, and lens bolted together will be plenty strong. i chose to use 16ga for a few reasons. 1. as of right now any bends that are made in the bracket are done by hand by me, this 16ga allows me to keep tight tolerances. 2. one thing i am trying to do is keep it lighter than the stock pop-ups, i will let you know once everything is finished what the final weight is. 3. because the bracket bolts to 2 stock locations i do not want to interfere with the hood closing.
this is all for now i will provide updates as they occur.

im not exactly sure what you mean. the setup isnt like the cwest kit were there is a fiberglass lower bucket. the hella light modules are sealed for external mounting so it wasnt really necessary. the thicker square(ish) bracket mounts to the car and the lights to it (pg. 15). the shroud and lens mount to the upper bracket and that bracket mounts to the car (pg.16).
i will repost the pics, the first is the lights mounted to the lower bracket, the second is the shroud/lens bracket mounted to the car.

wait, so there isnt a bucket like EVO-R or Cwest. Just the brackets holding the lights like the FEED front bumper HID lights (like the 99 spec turn signal combo)??
I also thought u were making a mold for the bucket. Some ideas were throwing around like the Corvette or the Ferrari housings?

ok, i will try to clarify the best i can at this point, if you are still unclear let me know and i will try again, lol. the evo-r/re-a sleek kit have a similar design (same bucket lens design (evo r lens is glued down, re-a is screwed down)) how ever mine isnt really close other than a few mounting points. now the C-West style is 3 pieces (not including lights) a lower "bucket," the upper shroud, and the lens. my design is closer to the c-west design. how ever instead of the lower bucket (c-west) bolting to the car, i have the steel bracket (seen in picture). the lights on the c-west kit screw down to the lower bucket (which is a bit flimsy), my lights bolt to a heavy steel bracket which itself bolts to the car. this keeps any stresses from bumps or turning on the steel and frame of the car rather than a thin composite.
now as i said the shroud/lens bracket is steel and the bracket bolts to the car at 3 points making it sturdy by its self, but once you attach the shroud and lens it reinforces the bracket to an even greater degree.
again for some clarification the piece i have referred to as the shroud its the part that makes it "pretty." i will be going after the ferrari 360 look. and on top of that is a clear polycarbonate (lexan is a brand name for polycarbonate by GE).
hopefully this answers the questions.
also david, with all pieces installed the support structure in not visible unless you pop the hood, similar to the mounting points of the evo-r. i am considering powder coating the steel brackets black, the buyer could also paint them body color to blend better (really only the shroud/lens bracket would need to be painted since the others are not visible).
hopefully this is the answer that clarifies everything.

started my aluminum plugs for the lenses yesterday. the guy that was helping me was just over an hour late, that combined with the already short time and a few mishaps means i didnt get a whole lot done. i did get one mold done, i may redo it though. long story short i should have them done this sunday.
will update then.

that being said im anticipating in the $950 range shipped in the lower 48.
it should be right around the evo-r kit but better lighting.
and i am hoping to have the first set done by the end of march. and go into production.
both price and time are subject to change.
If you have an extra one lying around ill take it. my wife lost mine. but i just cant afford one right now, over full time at school means minimal hours at work, that and paying for stupid amounts of gas, compounded on top of other bills. and what free money i do have is going toward the project.
