Introduction & Product Development for Interior Upholstery!!
Hello All,
My name is Austin Edwards, I have been a long time member on these forums. My brother Alex and I started our own business one year ago after having a combined 12 years in the industry. We specialize in interior upholstery for all automobiles.
My first car was an FD rx7, so they hold a special place in my heart. Over the years, it has become increasingly difficult to find good condition interior parts with many parts becoming discontinued and used parts getting older and more heavily used.
We are here to try to help facilitate users needs as best we can when it comes to restoring the interior of your rx7. So please, let us know of any parts that you think we may be able to help with.
The second purpose of this post is to inform members of products we are already developing and will be starting group buys for shortly. Those products include:
Full seat cover replacements for Spirit R and RZ Recaro's in alcantara:
Non bose privacy covers for the rear hatch area(still in development):
Non bose trunk carpets:
[/QUOTE]
We look forward to working with the Rx7 Club community and appreciate the opportunity to help keep your rx7 one of the best looking cars on the road!

I've had four sets of seats recovered now for my own RX-7s and for some good friends. All came out VERY nice--- you can't go wrong here

I can vouch for these guys, they've covered a number of our aluminum interior handles (maybe you've got some pics to post from John you can post) but they came out great! Maybe we can set up some partnership to funnel customers over that want their handles done in leather.

Thanks for the support guys!!!
Zilvinas007, the short answer to your question is any color. But depending on exactly what you are thinking, it may effect pricing.
The group buy will be set up as the base alcantara cover being the starting point with options from there. If more members want to see a leather option, then we can certainly do pricing for a base leather seat cover also.
The curious thing with leather is that there are so many different options. For example, we have about 100 different alcantara colors that we can choose from. So, if someone wanted to do a bright orange seat cover instead of black, we could do that and it wouldn't effect pricing. With leather, there are several different factors that contribute to the price of a hide.
So, I could set up pricing for members based on a nice mid range, smooth grain(nappa, as some might know it), black leather for "mass production" with the option to change the color. If you wanted to switch to something exotic like the lime green Lamborghini Verde Ulysses leather, it will effect pricing though.
You can pm me and we can discuss different options also.
Thanks,
Austin

We do not do steering wheels in house right now. We deal with a company in Dallas that does great work for steering wheels.
Hand stitching is a whole different ball game. It is something that we are working towards being able to offer though. I have been collecting factory FD shift ***** to eventually recover.

Austin did my center tunnel cover and a-pillar covers in Alcantara, and they look awesome.
Pro Tip: I used the charcoal grey instead of black genuine Alcantara, and it seems to match the nearby vinyls and plastics better than black—black alcantara sucks up a lot of light, so tends to look darker than plastic or vinyl that reflect a bit.

The first two sets we did together as our "prototype" covers to get the patterns figured out. So we didn't have a real accurate gauge of how much time one set actually costs to make. We are doing a set for another customer right now in red alcantara. We will use this to confirm our pricing so that we can bring these out at the lowest cost possible for the community.
I can tell you that our covers will be very competitively priced to the few other reproduction covers that use similar to OE recaro material that wears out quickly and doesn't look half as good as alcantara.
Just put everything on a pallet and send it over. ....But seriously, freight shipping isn't that bad if you are sending a lot.
Stop in and visit....when there isn't 2 ft. of snow on the ground.
