LOL,

yeah I better hurry before I lose any more customers.....hahahaha

I like the stock turbo and track vmounts. The monster drag vmount it friggen shoe-horned in.

The drag core is a Bar and Plate Garrett core, with internal fins, flows 1300 CFM at 15 psi, supports constant 600 whp when warmed up for track / togue / drift use and in 1/4mile drag racing it is good enough to support 785HP. This core has been able to support just over 1000hp during drag racing applications by Toyota Supras.

The drag core looks at an awkward angle but there is ample room between the rad and ic. When a/c is left in it is a tighter fit. However it is completely functional.

Even if you guys do not get a vented hood, the fact that you do not have the IC sitting on top of the engine anymore is already a huge plus.

I like the sound of this. Highly interested if this ever comes out. I sure hope that it's worth the wait and the dollar.

It will come out.

It will be worth the wait.

Since the dollar has dropped it is now worth it's weight in gold..

So how long is the waiting list for this? Say I wanted one after it was completed, how long after I order it would it be delivered? I'm guessing it would be quite awhile...

I completely understand your assumption based on this thread, but....

It has taken so long because I am building 3 different vmount kits out of my pocket and not by opening a GB to finance it and then half *** a kit together to make some change (ie quick money).

Also early on I used some of my capital to buy an FD for 3200, can you blame me.

And as far as getting one, it will open with a GB too make it cheaper and faster for everyone to get.

I am in no rush to finish this to make a huge profit and to finish it because I am affraid to lose customers to someone else.

I am doing this because I make good shippable vmounts that come complete and I feel the FC deserves more then half way done kits like I have seen out there on the market.

Somedays I work on it, somedays I don't. I have to save money myself to do this.

I am already 5k into these 3 kits because money is waisted on fitting stuff, then redoing it, then modifying it again untill it is right. Cost to pay a fabricator and welder because I lack these tools.

I do this so that buy the time you get it, it will be a bolt on kit with everything you need with no modifications required.

As of now, it will come with mnimal ducting, but you guys will have to finish it per your application.

Silver Comet, please do not take this response personal, but I responded this way so that everyone knows how I feel about my work.

I am very truely sorry for the delay, but it is with good reason. it is so that you guys will not have fitment issues and a kit that will work and retain its value.

Ben

Oh, Once the GB opens it will go for a month, the kits will have to be prepaid. I will need 5 min orders, does not have to be the same kit, it can be different version. Once the GB closes I have to order the parts, have them modified, then test fit them all on my jig then ship it out to you.

Once GB closes, probably looking at 6 to 8 weeks or so to build all the kits. At least I'm honest.

I understand that it will take quite of bit due to the quality of the product. You sound like a perfectionist and I must say that I like that in a dealer. Please take your time doing it right. I'll be waiting.

Thanks, I sent Funkspectrum a cell phone pic of the baby vmount which is for the stock turbo and uses stock airbox. Changing the radiator and intercooler does not mess with any CARB laws !!

You retain all factory sensors with all 3 kits. I believe the only change is re-routing a vacuum line that goes to the stock I/C to somewhere else and you have to re-locate or get rid of the baffle that is in line with the intake/turbo that goes to the front right side under the pop-up light.

Hey Ben, I may go with a BNR single as the next power upgrade - any chance that the piping to the compressor outlet on the stock turbo kit can be used with the track v-mount?

Yes.

But we will have to modify the silicone elbow with a better new 4 ply. I just need to see where the turbo sits (ie stock location) and I can do the rest for you.

The stock turbo silicone elbow is 2" at the compressor and transistions to 1.75" at the inlet of the top mount I believe.

The way the other two vmounts are made will allow any type of configuration to go to the inlet I/C side. The in and out of the other two will be 2.75.

The other two vmounts will have all piping going to the upgraged greddy elbow, but the turbo side will go to a point that can have set-up attached to it.

The will allow people to use there own transistions and what not.

The only thing I am not providing in the kit is a BOV.

You guys can choose that and where to place it.

Also I am installing this on your car so we can make sure all is well and that is when I will make install instructions. Just keep your car complete because I have to write what to take apart and what to put back together for everyone.

I will be doing all 3 vmounts pics on your car since you still have power steering and a/c hooked up.

Ben

About that: my engine bay is missing the stock airbox and tid, and the plastic ducting that goes to it. I also don't have the fan shroud. I'm not running an afm either since I'm on a microtech. I don't know how big a change this is to ya, just wanted to point it out before you decide to come all the way down just to find out my engine bay isn't 100% factory

I got it from a customer.

He bought a vmount, hks rs intake kit, pfc and the pfc boost kit, and a bunch of other goodies.

While stuff was on order someone stole his car, joy rode it, blew the ported motor and that jacked up one of the turbos on the 99 twins it had and kicked a fat dent behind the driver door in the rear 1/4 panel. It is a 95 base with non glass sunroof, 5spd, single oil cooler. It has a cool hks boost gauge, a turbo timer somewhere under the dash, tein coilovers, racing beat single tip and the car is red with black leather.

The car was insured.

The guy paid 14k for it, insurance gave him all his money back plus I paid him 3200 for it. So he got 17200.

I couldnt resist. I regreted getting rid of my FD back in the day, now I have one again....thats paid off.

Once the FC vmounts are done and the GB is done and everyone has their kits then I can finish restoring my bros G20.

Once that is done then I can re-build my RX8 motor and repair the tranny.

Once that is done then I can finish my FD-save the best for last...lol

I have a stock motor ready to go in, but I am going to go with my track mount and adapt it for twins. I am going to make a custom intake system to get air to the turbos and custom piping so each turbo has its own path to the i/c. I will modify the secondary turbo wastegate where the 5-bolt flange is with an external one so I can maintain 12 psi to redline. I will run an M2 unlimited ecu and gredy profec-B boost controller.

I have all the parts to make it a replica mazdaspeed a-spec car. I have 4 17x9 mazdaspeed ms-02 rims. I have genuine mazdaspeed side skirts from the red car in the photos. I have the racing beat spoiler which was a copy of the mazda speed one and I have a replica front bumper. The racing beat single tip exhaust is perfect because this kit had a mazdaspeed muffler which was a single tip.

This is also the exact kit on the initial D yellow FD. It also has the ms-02 rims but they are black with polished lip.

Heres the pics.

what it will look like, I will go with a painted red mazdaspeed hood but I am going to cut bigger vents in it for the I/C.

S4 and S5 top mounts actually have different inlet sizes. I think S4s are like 1.5" or 1.75" and S5s are 2"

I could be wrong on the specifics though.

Thats cool, I thought it was odd but the turbo elbow does transition from the 2" to the small 1.75.. well it does not matter now..lol.

The baby vmount comes with all new elbows (stock turbo but all bolt on's and raised boost. Should be able to support upto 300whp already warmed up.

After that I have the track and drag for more power.

So the small vmount is done. The bottom section is the same for all three I/C's so when you guys see the pics you'll have a rough idea of what to expect.

So I am prepping a few pics right now and putting my watermark on it.

I put too much work into it to have my pics flotting around with no name to it.

You will not see the brackets unless you have the kit, this kit is pretty badass so I have a feeling it may be copied...lol

Sorry I have been secretive with it, but give me 30 min and I'll have the spy stock turbo with factory airbox vmount kit up.

Ben

Look at my cool rotary speakers.

Frys Electronics 17 bucks, but priceless to me because it looks like a rotor, there is a left and right set.
