Pineapple Racing another job well done
Let me start by saying that I've found this website to be an invaluable tool since my RX-7 infatuation began two years ago. And although this will be my first post on the forum I can honestly say that I have logged numerous hours here searching for anwers to every question that tripped me up along the way. I am now the proud owner of two GSL-SE's. An 84 and an 85 both of which shown me the great potential these cars possess. Of course both cars were obtained with such high mileage that before to long the inevitable happened. Yep you guessed it rebuild time.
Now I feel it is time to give a word of advise to anyone thinking about having and engine rebuilt which generation or year you own is irrelevant. The knowledge and experience these gentleman possess is an invaluable asset to the community as a whole. In my opinion Pineapple Racing is the premere engine rebuilding shop in the north west. If you doubt what I'm saying just give them a call and talk with Rob for five minutes and you'll change your mind.
As I'm sure you all know a rebuild is not cheap and that goes for any car For me it was a 3400.00 dollar investment and if you're like me a don't make piles of money that is a heafty price for anything. Even so I couldn't be any happier with my choice. The professional nature and the pride in their craftsmanship is contagious. There is alot of knowledge crammed into that tiny shop and it shows in every thing they do.
So I would like to take the time to personally thank Rob, Daniel, Blake and anyone else that took part in my rebuild they did a great job and it did not stop once they were payed. They have been there for me every step of the way as I did my first engine install.
Let me say that choosing who I wanted to rebuild my motor was no small task infact it took me three months of research and phone calls to every rotary rebuilder I could find in the united states in the end it was someone right down the road. Their straight forward approach and integrity sold me on pineapple racing. When I first contacted them about my rebuild they gave me a definitive price, unlike the rest that gave me a starting price that would go up once they received my core to inspect. I liked that no matter how hard I tried I could not bait Rob into saying a negative thing about any other rotary rebuilder out there. To me that put these guys in a class all by themselves. I was sold from that point on and I've yet to be disappointed.
I went down there several times during the rebuild process and everytime they were happy to stop what they were doing and show me how the rebuild was going. The day my motor was completed I received a call somewhere between 2 and 3 in the afternoon and told them I was on my way. I live in seattle its a 4 hour drive if you drive like a bat out of hell. Making it by 5 was not really possible but it didn't matter Rob let me know I could take my time and he would be there when I showed up. That was finally around 7:30 and once there he comenced to giving me a 3 1/2 hour tutorial on anything I had questions about. I had such a great experience through it all that I'm just dying to get past that break in period and really see what that car can do. I'm sorry if this seems like a novel but when something like this happens I have to tell everyone I can. Thanks Erick
