All you need is a cage, coilovers, LSD, bucket seats, slicks, and harness belts... strip the interior and you've got a pretty sweet track car. As long as it's got a B16.
It would tear the face off of a stock FD around a road course.

GET OFF MY LAWN

Sad but true story: About 1994 or 95 I was racing at a track near Detroit called Waterford Hills. A guy shows up with a 90 CRX, a new car classified in ITA. For the previous 5 or 6 years the FB RX7 had been THE car to have in the class. As in, 10 cars show up, 7 are FB's.
This guy had DRIVEN the car from Cincinnati, a trip of about 280 miles. He untangles his racing tires from the interior of the car and pulls his tool box out of the passenger seat foot well. He looks at the pen drawing of the track from the sups and tries to get his bearings compared to what he's seeing from the paddock.
He then goes out and knocks .2 seconds off the lap record.
The CRX pretty much killed ITA because there was no need to bring an RX7 if you wanted to win and everybody was driving RX7's. The Birth of IT7 came next to keep entries up.

What the hell? Since when did people NOT expect a ribbing in the Lounge? Especially for something like this? Noobs have been more heavily chastised for much less.

The lounge is not the place for the hypothetical race in question.
As part of the Kills Rules:
Thread moved.
As part of the Kills Rules:
- All threads that ask about an outcome of a race such as "FD vs. Supra" that actually didn't happen are to be placed in that generations specific section if it involves an RX-7, all other "vs." threads that don't involve an RX-7 (and ask about the outcome of a race) should be in the General Automotive section. The kills section is just for kill stories, not for performance questions. We will stop moving threads and just delete them from now on. So if you are wondering why the thread you just posted isn't there anymore, you now know why.
