What Apex seal to use?

? The thread title is about apex seals. The post following the video clearly stated what apex seals where used to make the power. This is the 1st boosted dyno run I've ever seen with steel seals going past 10k on the dyno. Wow!

Here are some more details on the above video...
RXParts Apex Seals
RXParts 2 Piece E-shaft
RXParts Engine Stud Kit
GTXR 4202 71mm turbo
Electromotive TEC3R
PFSupercars built/tuned 13B Semi PPort

Combustion pressure holds the seal against trochoid surface, so even "not that light" seal can work in boosted engine, even in very high RPM´s
Dyno numbers are nice, trap speeds and acceleration numbers are better, something like 150+ MPH....

Spinning the motor that high isn't that big of a deal. Making the power I am that high is what I was impressed with, with Ray's engine and tuning. As for the Tec, yes Sven, I switched as they sponsered me. Its ignition system is great. I have no complaints at all. Its been a long road for myself and Ray, but through persistance and hard work, Im pleased to say that once again Ray never ceases to amaze me. Obviously when your doing something that you have not done before, theres a learning curve. Big thanks to Ray Wilson @ PFS, Roan @ RXParts, Anthony NYC and Sven of NRS for sticking by me and the continued support. Can't wait to hit the track.

You can dispute the power as some always like to do. What you cannot dispute is how broad my power band is. Keep in mind this is with a little 71mm turbo. The exhaust side is too small for the booost we wanted to run and it excaped out the wastegate up high. With a bigger a/r, Im confident it will make well over 900rwhp.

Congrats Ernie on getting the car back running again. Sounds great! So would you care to explain what happened/cause to the last engine and what changes did
you do to this one?
Thanks and good luck at the track.

Thanks. To be honest, I could care less what the haters think. My car speaks for itself. I'll be at the races racing my car, while others look at theirs in the garage or the lift. But there was a dyno shoot out down here in MD a year or so ago and I dynoed the same numbers on that dyno, which was a dyno dynamics and it didn't matter. People will always try and bring you down. Im not worried about the little ankle biters any longer.

Im going to give some more input here with more first hand experience. If your building a 800+ hp car and NOT using meth as your fuel, NRS seals are going to be your only option. Im running a semi pport motor, balanced with every fortification done to the motor to prolong the life, ie..2 piece shaft, more dowels, stud kit, you name it, I've done it. That said, no matter if your running a safe 10.9 a/f ratio, safe egts (under 1500), the heat generated spinning upwards of 11000 rpm is just too much for a steel seal and it warps. The NRS seal is the only seal that can withstand this heat and keep good compression especially over a period of time. I will only use NRS seals from now on based on my experience.

Only numbers that matter are the ones on the scoreboard.
Don't know why you keep saying hater or ankle biter towards me.
What's to hate?
I've made more power then that with 15lbs less boost.
And how many passes did you make last year? 5? 10?
I've got over 50. How many you have this year ? 3? 4?
My car is under construction and won't be running till late October and am sure I'll still get more passes in one or two months then you will all year.

You spout off about "1st hand experience" and then you respond to another forum members question with the above response of yours I have quoted in this post? You dont know why it failed and why one second steel seals were junk and now they are great again.
If I have overlooked something I apologize, just your story changes so much.
I have no dog in the fight and for those who think I am jumping on this guy give it a break. I rarely build engines any more except to help the local guys and for my personal cars. It just drives me crazy how he can post with such conviction about his knowledge of these engines and what setup is the best/required/etc and then change his OPINION at the drop of a hat.
I talked to him at DGRR a couple years back while Edgar from East Coast Rotary was standing next to me. Ernie explained to us how the ALS seals were actually just relabled Aviaton Superseals. Said it with all the confidence in the world right in front of Edgar. We just looked at each other in amazement and laughed it off.
Your car has been great advertising for Ray and is the reason I have recommended him to tons of people over the years. For him thankfully most people can overlook the owner of the yellow car and just appreciate Ray's work.
Keep on keeping on and hopefully you go out and show some 150+ mph traps. Your car has been great for the FD following, just wish the owner would do his part as well.

Im confused also why would you go tek after your car was running aem . Aem has so many cars under its belt with over 1200hp on our earth but you decide to try another route? why reinvent the wheel again and again?

And that is exactly why I was so impressed with the dyno numbers. You don't see too many 13b's with power bands that long in the top end. I mean you got 5k worth of usable (non peaky) power.

Now do you see why people act the way they do towards you? One second steel seals are junk without methanol and cant see high rpms, the next you post a dyno with them claiming 10k+ rpms is a breeze.

DJSeven, After going through the bashing, do you really think Im gonna come on and detail everything that was done differently to the car? To be honest I really don't konw. Im not the shop owner. Ray doesn't involve himself with this gay drama bs, that Enzo does. Im just happy to have my car back, making great power, and goin racing. Simple as that. Before Enzo and his brother came around, everyone got along around here.

I spike to 40, then bleed down to 28lbs and made over 800 across the board. Post your dyno sheet sweetheart. Im sure you won't.
50 passes my ***. You couldn't make two passes because "the rotary wasn't meant to be on the two step", lmao....

Ernie your a joke.. You know it all though. It's obvious.
maybe you should've had "quick release" tabs too then you would actually be at the track..
Besides your obviously clueless to rotary's and race car's in general so who are you to make comments or judgements?
And I could care less about working on your shitbox. It was you who was complaining you couldn't keep anything together and it took way to long to get anything done and were fed up with your boy ray.. You were evening considering selling the car and buying a piston car. you called me I didn't call you...
I've been working on 996's, 997's, turbo lambo's, and turbo R8's , I think i can handle customer cars just fine and plenty busy.. Thank you very much...
Don't need a dyno sheet when my car actually goes down the track fast...
I wouldn't talk about making two passes together when your shitbox can't come off the dyno and live..
My car made 7 eight second passes in one day back to back..
what does yours do????
Go get some seat time buddy..

I love how you sidestep everything i stated with specific facts and details. And you come back with "Im clueless" lmao....I didn't call you except to help you out by purchasing a turbo from you. Nice try.
You made one 8 sec pass and never backed it up. Who are you kidding? Mr seashell race car. Stick with piston cars.
One, get off my jock little boy
Two, Post your dyno little boy
Three, Get a life John Travolta....
