smoke comming from twn turbo area under hood
I raced a bike a few days ago and during the race my clutch slipped very badly and is pretty well shot now. It had slipped before but never this badly. Anyway I got up to about 150 but smoke was pouring out from my car and rpms were pretty much redlined the whole time because of the slippage. Anyway afterwards I popped my hood and there was a lot of smoke comming from the turbo area. My question is where exactly is the clutch located...could that have been the clutch burning or was that the turbo's.

I'll tell you want I know from what I don't know and what has happened to me
This is also from what the machanic said aka, fat unshaven guy with a strip shirt and oil staining his hands black. (no offense to any cleanly shaven machanics)
Here it goes:
I was going down the street (3rd day of having my FD) this guy in a ford probe was reving his engine (sounded like and RC car) so I thought for ***** and giggles i would see what the car had agaist another car (being I had only gone all out through my nigherborhood at 2 in the morning)
So I drop it form 4th to 3rd and the probe takes off and i'm sitting here at redline in 3rd going 30ph. Things only got worse from there, shifted up still red line, shift to my last gear and i was like damn redline in 5th at 20 mph so I pulled around this building and my car was smoking like you would not believe, in 5th redlining barly making its way along at 5mph. Finally no more movement, much more smoke, smoke is coming from everywhere, the front, back, sides, looked like my car was on fire. Stopped it and had to towed.
The machanic I reffered to at top told me "I "burnt" the clutch out, it was all my fault and me and the rest of the damn kids should stop racing our cars"-blow me, then he said my rear main seal was ruined and he didn't want my clutch to get "oil soak" so they charge me up the *** for that one.
So pretty much there if it was your clutch (which is pretty much straight down and a little foward from the siftknob) smoke would come from everywhere.
And for what I think I know and really have no clue, if it was smoking from just north of your air box, I guess it could be you have a cracked manifold on your turbos and it could be burning oil.
Either way NOT a good thing........so if that didn't help you a little I hope you liked my story and there will be amny more to come.
