Renesis apex seals in FC

Renesis apex seals in FC
Has anyone checked out the one piece apex seals at Mazdatrix, they don't look anything like the two and three piece seals we're used to. Has anyone evaluated what it would take to use those puppies in an FC rebuild, or better yet the whole kit plus Ren rotors and eccentric shaft?

The renesis apex seals are physically shorter (in height; not length) due to the lack of a paripheral exhaust port. In other words, they CAN work, but you'll more than likely have to get some different springs.
Renesis rotors in an FC WILL work and they fit perfectly. I've heard that you'll have to machine the rotor's apex seal groove to accept the regualr apex seals (make it deeper). If you're expecting to get a totally reliable (150,000mi) 9k redline on paripherial exhaust housings without machining the apex seal groove deeper, think again. The seal flutter just begs them to roll out. Then, not to mention the oiling system is better (two oil injectors on the housings; solution: premix). Can it be done? yes. Has it been done? yes. This was just what I've been told from various sources (so don't get mad if I'm wrong).
Renesis apex seals are 2-piece. If you look closely at the picture of the apex seals (on MAZDATRIX), you'll notice that there's a little corner piece on them; it appears to be glued on, but the crappy photo doesn't lend much in the ways of clarity.
If you're after the one-piece apex seals (seals without a separate corner piece), they're nothing new. Many places sell them. I've been told that they don't seal very good at lower RPMS unless you're a clearancing wizard and get them almost perfect. Personally, I'd just get a good set of 2-piece seals (RWS has some very nice ones I hear) and leave it at that.

You're bloody right about the two piece design of the renesis seals,a nd that is a crappy photograph. Hmmm, maybe its best to sit back and wait for a crate engine.
