Pod Filter

I am an old fan of this site, it usually offers great tech advice good on you fella's we need more sites like this one !!

So I've currently sold my old Mazda Rotory RX7 series 2, I know it's a shame and I cry and cry and cry every day. lol.
So I've bought this pulsar, don't laugh!! I get around 100k's off 10 bucks of petrol (thats australian) Ok so I've bought this beast and added some extra's, one of those is a Pod filter, it went great for a couple of days then developed this sort of, hissing noise, it sounds quite cool because it builds as I go up in revs, sort of like a turbo spool, but not quite. So Ive worked out that the pod filter seems to be reducing the amount of air flow that the engine wants!! Id be better off goin back to the stock air box. Can any one tell me why ?
