How often do you change your oil? Changing the oil more frequently using dino uice is one way to deal with fuel dilution. Brian (BNR) did report losing an engine because of running it too long before changing it, so oil related failures do happen. Everyone has their little window of experience, but to say it can't happen because it hasn't happened to you is a bit absurd.

I've never had the sky fall on me. Therefore, it can't happen.

UOA's are fine and dandy but half of the people that critique them have no clue what they are looking at. The BITOG forum is full of bad info with some good mixed in but pretty biased towards certain oils. Then again the oils that seem to do the best are also forum sponsors. Go figure.

It's absurd that you would put words in my mouth. Did I every say it couldn't happen?
My oil change interval was in my post. I've owned 4 rx7'since 1991. 2 12a 1st gens, 91na vert and my Fd and all of them have gone over 100k orginal engine. All rotary's are plagued with fuel dilution. There's nothing little about my window of experience. All of my NA rotary's have died due to carbon related and apex seal sticking failures. The bearings on all these engines are in great shape. The carbon reason is why I started doing the water steam cleaning method to control the build-up on my Fd. The Fd engine was over boosted and broke an apex seal. If your oil is changed on a regular basis (regardless of what oil brand you use) it is highly unlikely you will have oil related failures with a rotary. Now oil leaks on the pressure side causing low oil pressure problems are two totaly different situations. I've torn apart and engine that had only silicon gasket on the oil pick-up tube. That engine spun a bearing because the oil pump wasn't able to properly fully siffen the oil from the sump. You wanna see pics of this same engines oil pump? I can also show you pics of the one 12a I have left oil pump with 144k that carbon locked.
