jdm/usdm ecu

Hi, I have a 93 JDM FD RX-7 and I was wondering if a USDM FD's ecu would work fine on it. I wanted to take off the cutoff so I thought about doing that, but I'm not sure if it would cause any problems. I'm not exactly sure if the specs from a jdm is the same for an usdm, althought I believe so. Did anyone ever do that?

i'm not sure you'd want to do that.

it'll run but there are us-specific things that i'd look into first (EGR for example).

Whats wrong with sourcing the proper N3A7 ECU?
It is possible to convert the US computer to JP spec without much work.

yes i know.. do you own a soldering/rework station? ..if not, ya better get one. :-)

would be cheaper to buy the jspec ecu mate.
