I recently bought a 1985 RX-7 GS I dont have a manual at all and was wondering how i can tell wheater my engine is a 12 or 13 A or B? I think it is a model 12 something but im not sure can anyone help me out? Also i was wondering how i could maybe turbo charge or increase my horsepower without turbocharging my rx7. Thanks!

I was wondering if maybe you can tell your engine type by looking at the VIN or something? Otherwise im totally clueless. I know i sound like an idiot but i really dont know how to tell which type of engine i have.

12A's have a big blue aircleaner assembly on top of a Nikki carburator, and yes the '12A' is marked on the top of the engine. GSL-SE's have 13Bs with electronic fuel injection. Easy to see the difference.
As well, SE's have bigger 14 inch wheels and a different bolt pattern (4x114.5 vs. 4x110). They also are loaded with options and have "GSL-SE" badging on the back above the taillights.

You have a 12A. You can turbocharge your car yes. The first turbo rx-7 was a first gen. If you are serious about going turbo look here:
