How Do I Re-Program My Apexi AVC-R ? (Old Model)
Could somebody let me know how to re-program in boost settings on my old model Apexi avc-r boost controller ?
I went to the Apexi-USA website to download the avc-r manual, but they had no manuals for my avcr, they had manuals for the new blue faced, and wot they call the "1st Gen" version, but neither of those look like mine.
mine has a oblong screen and only 3 buttons which are as follows (from right hand side) ......
button 1 (far R/H side of unit and to the right of the screen) = Power (push type button, on/off)
button 2 (to the left of the screen) = Mode (push type button, switch mode)
button 3 (far L/H side of unit) = Vol (push it in and it pops out so u can turn it like a volume dial like on a radio)
I have a S1 rx7 with a 13B REW engine with a bunch of bolt ons including a single Turbonetics TO4 conversion, 42mm ext wastegate, large front mount i/c, upgraded fuel system, 900cc inj etc etc dyno'd at 348hp at the rear wheels @ 18 psi on 98 octane fuel
tonight i went for a drive.....
With the units power off it makes 14 psi
On preset 25 it makes 12 psi
preset 30 i got to 16 psi
preset 35 i got 15 psi
preset 40 goes to 25 psi and perhaps beyond !!
the guy i bought it off gave me a laminated card with the presets and wot boost they are writen on it, and they are as follows....
power off 8 psi
preset 20 - 10 psi
preset 25 - 15 psi
preset 30 - 18 psi
so it seems all jumbled up.
it also duznt seem to matter if the "solenoid valve" plug at the back of the unit is either plugged in or not !!! az i found it out a while ago and plugged it in.
my microtech digi series 2 + ecu is tuned for up to 18 psi, my engine detonated for about 1 sec at 25 psi obviously, probably just as well i was running on Avgas, i backed off the gas a.s.a.p. and things seem to be ok.
any help fixing this mess would be appreciated
